Was watching a lot of Cowboys stuff today and not cause I’m a fan but I think the Cowboys have a lot of players who just don’t get the respect they deserve even from fans.

Bob Hays when people talk about all time great WRs hardly ever mentioned. You put that man in a modern offense and people would go Jerry who? Amazing player shame he doesn’t get more credit

Moose this guy was great at opening holes for Smith. Watching this guy just smash LBs letting Smith break free is amazing. I don’t think Smith is near as good without him. Should at least be in ROH.

Harvey Martin this guy was a QBs nightmare but when people talk pass rushers crickets. He was our sack leader for a long time if not mistaken and I think part of his career sacks weren’t a stat. Should be in ROH and HOF

Lee Roy Jordan this guy was a great LB true monster in the middle of the field. At least he is in the ROH and maybe if they expand the HOF class he can make it in way over due.

Who are some players you don’t think we as Cowboy fans don’t even give enough credit? Guys who you think belong in ROH or HOF. Just out of curiosity does anyone know who on the Dallas media is on the HOF voters and who presents and makes a case for our older players?

Kimda shows why we were so successful then vs the last 20 years:banghead:

I'll go with Cornell Green, Dave Manders and Walt Garrison. Green was one of the best CBs and returners we've had, almost on par with Sanders. Manders was the anchor of a nasty OL with a mean streak. Garrison is the best FB we've ever had. Sorry Moose fans. That ol cowboy was a lot better with the ball and could lay guys out.

Of course, the people that don’t give enough credit to guys like Jordan, Martin and Hayes are guys that are too young to remember their eras. Those of us that saw them play know the impact they made.

Some guys I think are under appreciated, and probably were even while they were playing, are Neely, Nye and Niland (nature of the position, especially in those days), Cornell Green, Jim Jeffcoat, Greg Ellis, Everson Walls, Dexter Coakley ....

Last edited:
troy Hambrick (not an all time great not even great but it’s hard to come after the greatest RB of all time, left a lot to be desired but he wasn’t bad)

Jay Novechek (before there was witten this guy was the model of consistency at the tight end position)

Dat Nguyen ( this guy may be the most underrated LB ever....this dude was a force and everything you look for in a LB)

Rocket Ismail( speed out of this world played on some horrible cowboys teams but he was good)

Anthony Henry (a great corner opposite tnew )

Michael Wiley (most May not remember him but I do I loved this guy !!!!!)

Jim Jeffcoat might be the most underrated Cowboy of all time. Because he played mostly on bad teams, people don't realize how good he was. Also, most don't even realize he played a key role in the 92 and 93 super bowl winning teams, having 10 and 6 sacks, respectively. Also had 4.5 sacks in those two years in the super bowl run playoffs.
