You guys realize the only way you trade Romo is if he sees the field this year? He needs to show that he can still play at a high level and do it without getting injured again for another team to offer the Cowboys what Tony Romo is actually worth.

Romo probably starts against Philly and we'll see what he has.

I was listening to the radio Tuesday afternoon when Clarence Hill was a guest.

He stated a chronology of positions by Jerry on Romo and his injury. Hill quoted Jerry saying recently "Well have to see how Dak plays against Green Bay and the Eagles."

I researched that quote and came away with this.

We'll play this thing out is part of the quote Hill attributed to Jones.

Would we even get a 7th rounder for Romo at this point? His age+ massive contract+ injuries.. I even doubt it.

The pick is less important than the cap relief we would get in future years. We would be on the hook for about 24 mil a year for the next 3 years, a trade would allow that cap space to bolster the defense. I like Romo but if we can save 24 mil a year to sign other players and go with Dak I do it 10 times out of 10. However that's me I don't see Jerry trading Romo even for a first rounder. There's this weird family thing going on that i don't like. I'm all for loyalty to players when it makes sense but keeping Romo and his bad contract when it doesn't make sense and letting Dez be late for meetings etc... is not being a good owner.

We don't need to get anything - just clear cap space. Would even be worth giving a couple of low picks with Romo. Even his half seasons salary this year would extend a couple of players.

I read an opinion from an NFL Executive that Romo's trade value would be the highest this offseason if he didn't play at all this year.

You don't dump an All-Pro at the most valuable position in football just to clear cap space. The Eagles got a 1st for Sam freakin' Bradford. I'm not an advocate for trading Romo and think it's a pipe dream of some fans but if you do you better get something more than nothing.

those who are wishfully thinking Romo gets traded next season are overlooking one critical aspect, and that is the sentimental value that Jerry holds with Romo. You think letting Demarcus Ware go to Denver was hard for Jerry? (and it was, very hard, by all accounts). Letting Romo go would be 100 times worse

I just don't see it happening.

Romo should not be traded this year. See what happens in off season.

Yeah, a midseason trade seems almost implausible. I think the *only* way it happens is if a contending team suffers a season-ending injury at the position in the weeks/days leading up to the trade deadline. That could cause a panic button to be pushed, and for them to inquire about a suddenly healthy Romo. But as we sit here today, I don't think we'd be actively trying to move him nor do I think there would be anyone calling us.

If we can get a 7th rounder for a washed up wrinkled QB who has presided over the worst stretch in Cowboys history, then we would be absolute fools not to take it. His cap space is going to be absolutely crippling for this franchise if we decide to do nothing.

Romo doesn't look wrinkled when the cameras pan to him during the games. In fact he looks rather young.

Have you seen the new Star Wars: Rogue One trailer? Looks good.

Ive wanted Romo traded for years so he can go win a superbowl. I really wanted him to end up in Minnesota, though I think Miami could be a good landing spot too.

That said, no way you trade a top 5 QB right now for a guy who has won 4 games against non-winning teams. Period.

His cap space is because he is one of the best QB's in the league. Get off your Moms computer.
