Aside from the question as to whether Romo is worth his current cap space there's also the question of whats best for the team.

Is the upgrade (if it even exists) you get from replacing Dak with Romo better than the upgrade you'd get from signing up to 4 up and coming starters in other positions with Romos salary?

In order to trade Romo you would need a trading partner. And most likely there wouldn't be one.

He should not be traded this year. We are 4-1 with a great chance to make a long run. He may be needed. To trade him, he would have to be a willing partner because to get anything of value he would have to be willing redo his contract.

Risk vs reward. For a 1st or 2nd round draft pick and to get an opportunity to get Romo's contract off the books....I would take the chance that Dak doesn't get hurt.

First. Jerry will not trade his boy. Second. No other club will offer anything for a 36 yr old QB with serious injuries, a bloated contract and a history of failure in big games. Trading Tony is a pipe dream.
