You might want to rewatch that play. Wentz was blitzed and the pocket started to collapse. He stepped up, then ran to his right while watching the field the whole time. He saw Sproles break upfield and laid a perfect pass in to him while on the move. Damn good play, not as simple dump off. Also, Skip doesn't mention that Wentz's receivers probably lead the league in dropped passes. His stats would look better if even half of those balls were caught.

There is no reason to denigrate Wentz to make Dak look better. Both show great promise. We don't know who will be better. I do know that we got the better bargain, but if Wentz is the real deal, then the Eagle's paying price was not too high.

I saw the entire play at least three times. He escaped pressure and threw to the checkdown option. Am I denigrating Wentz to say the play is average? Do I have to demand his face be carved into Mount Rushmore because he made a play every starting QB in the league makes several times a game?

I can show you a hundred plays from Romo or Rodgers or Luck that are amazing throws, brilliant reads, etc. Do you really think that play from Wentz belongs in the same company as plays like that?

I never said Dak was better than Wentz and I agree we won't know which one is better for years. But we know what each team paid for each QB and for the price of FOUR early picks, Wentz needs to be great in order to justify the cost the Eagles paid. I don't see anything in that plays that screams "Great". And if Wentz is good rather than great, the Eagles lost that trade.

I hate to do it, but I'm going to quote Deion Sanders:

"Both"

Both of these young quarterbacks are playing amazing football, and both of their teams have to be ecstatic about the present and what the future holds.

So, rather than have to choose one or the other, I'm taking "both".

I agree that Dak has more pressure.

He has to fill Romo's shoes, be coached by Jason Garrett, and all of this at the highest profile sports job in America which is the Cowboys QB.
a 4th round pick with no expectations filling in for an injured starter after what Dallas had filling in last year has more pressure than the #2 pick in the draft, drafted to be the man? debate all you want about who might be better but don't start out by being ridiculous.

I think you're disregarding how much pressure comes with QB'ing the Dallas Cowboys. A whole hell of a lot more spotlight and pressure than Wentz could ever dream of. Liken it to being a number one pitcher for the New York Yankees. It's fine to highlight the pressure facing Wentz, but not at the expense of, or to lessen, that of our guy.

Prescott has the whole world watching him, scrutinizing him, waiting for him to come back down to earth. The pressure is real, mang. Dak has shined in the face of said pressure

just stop, if Dak falls on his face which he won't but if he did he's just a 4th round pick that failed. Hell if Dak was just decent we'd all be thrilled after last year. Wentz falls on his face he's a major bust. Philly shipped off their starter the week before the season started and made Wentz the guy. Dak's not even the real starter.

Wentz has more hype around him post draft for like what? 2 weeks now?

Dak has been under the microscope since Kellen Moore went down and all anyone could do is say he wouldn't be good because the regular season was coming.

Being the QB in Dallas raises pressure up extremely high and he has by far had more pressure than Wentz.

Heck.. I had more pressure on Cowboyszone to be right about the Wentz then Wentz had to perform early on.

Btw, I was a Wentz fan when you were still wanting Goff.

He'd be a fourth round pick that all of Cowboys nation (the largest fanbase in the world) is, now, counting on. His hype is unrivaled.

Many see the trade of Bradford as a net plus for the Eagles, much to the boon to the rest of the NFCE. They recouped a first that they dealt to get the guy, bruh.

Yes, Wentz has a lot on his plate, but don't brush aside the pressure that has been heaved on Dak by the Dallas media (and national circus media, alike), as well as the diehard Cowboys fanbase (unrivaled in size by any pro sports team). Something Wentz will never have to face in his little Philly bubble.

Skip is a moron who panders to Cowboys fans so they can watch his idiotic show, he's not a fan, he's looking for a ratings boost from Cowboys fans.
While I agree that he panders to Boys fans, which has helped his wallet immensely over the years - why would you say he's not a fan? I went to high school in the north Texas/DFW market upon his coming in as a reporter back in the 80s. So I've followed him now going on 35+ years. And while I agree he's a blowhard and can be unbearably boorish (I.e., the infamous Aikman coverage during 90s SB era), I think I'd be hard pressed to say he's not a fan. He's as homer as they get in my view. Does he leverage his fandom to economic benefit? No question. But that can be said about a lot of Cowboy fans. Just like non fans like Stephen A. leverage their hyperbolic displays of hate for the Boys as a way to stir up views and ratings.

There's a reason we're called America's team, rt? Covering the Boys is big media business whether we're winning or losing. And fans and non fans look to take full advantage of that. We need to look no further than this forum as a small demonstration of that. :)

Because Skip Bayless himself, said he wasn't a fan a few years back. It's all a stunt for ratings.

Well Pittsburgh is the 27 ranked defence and 2nd last passing defence, not like Wentz was going up against the steel curtain. I would think there is less pressure on Wentz, he makes a mistake and a top 5 defence can come to your rescue more times than not, not so much in Dallas, Prescott makes a mistake and with our D and it more times than not will turn into points.

Oh really? I wasn't aware of that. I will have to look that up. Is his fandom of the Spurs a ploy, too?

The Eagles were 12th in the NFL in total offense last season. Through 3 games this year they are ranked 13th.

Dallas was 22nd in the NFL in total offense last year, so far this year they are 8th. Plus Dallas hasn't had to face that vaunted Browns defense yet.
