so, I was bored a while back and came across someone's re-design of the 'boys unis. I liked some of the changes, but wanted to do a few of my own. I actually like the odd silver/aqua of our pants, but hate all of the mismatched colors.

I went with 1 silver (the aqua silver) 1 blue (somewhere in between royal and navy) and 1 white.

I went back to the old blue jersey that matches the white one.

I made the throwbacks work with the "silver" helmet that way only the star and stripes need to be changed.

I also added a silver stripe to the white pants to tie it to the helmet.

I'm just posting this because if I don't I will feel like I wasted a bunch of time for no reason... hahaha. Let me know what you think:

Leave the uniforms alone, especially the white ones.

However, I will say your design still respects the tradition for the most part, unlike the blasphemy I've seen other places.

well that was my point. I wasn't trying to change stuff i just wanted it cohesive. The "tradition" of the Cowboys unis is overrated in my opinion. They dont even use the matching home jersey... and I am sorry, but having two different silvers and two different blues is crazy especially because it wasnt really a function of design. they updated certain aspects to suit a specific need without addressing the whole. For the whites the only change is matching the silver of the helmet to the pants and the blue of the star to the numbers...

I don't think the helmet needs any changing - ever. Some updates on lines or something on the uniform might come out well, or added an added star to the uniform or something. But based off of some recent uniform redesigns in the league, any changes are just as likely to look atrocious.

again, I don't care if the unis never change. I'm not that bothered by them and I like them, but I would like if there was uniformity in color. It makes no sense to have a true silver helmet with navy stars, and a aqua-silver pants with royal blue stripes (and royal blue numbers and letters on the jersey).

I would rather see them unchanged then ruined. I think this is very slight.

Wanted to add this because I realized I forgot the white between the blue striped in the main pants:

I often wonder at the need some guys have to redesign clothes. It just doesn't occur to me. Am I missing something fun?

Yeah, to each his own, but I am more concerned with the guys wearing the uniforms rather than the uniforms themselves. But, the effort put into the redesign is impressive.

The K-State template is the right idea, something I've thought forever (except for that 2-3 year period a bit ago where Nike jacked up their jerseys).

I above all else just want our uniforms to look, well, uniform.

I think you gave it a reasonable shot. My primary disagreement is in choosing the aqua-silver, but that is a matter of opinion. The green tinge of the pants were initially chosen so that they would show up better on color television as they looked like a shiny silver on the old TVs (I believe this is the story from Tex Schramm back in the day). But with the advent of HDTVs and the way football is broadcast, it shows up greener than it should. I'm with you on having less shades, but would choose the slightly blueish tinged silver we use on the helmets and match the pants to that.

I am also not a fan of the blue socks and shoes, but that's another matter of opinion. Overall, not blasphemy, which is a bigger compliment than you might realize. :)
