to his dad. The Cowboys are a sinking ship. I really believe Stephen know his father has lost his way on running this organization.

I don't think Stephen is going to turn on his own father who has provided him so much.

My hope is that when he does inherit the franchise that he is more willing to delegate control than his dad.

LOL

This isn't a soap opera.

Stephen is not going to get into a power struggle for control of Ewing Oil.

.....And has his father committed....we are dooomed....

I do, too.

In fact, I always thought Stephen was behind this Reeves thing (on the idea of Wade), because it just didn't seem like Jerry. He's never had a connection to the Landry Cowboys and he's always been resistant to outside help -- unlike Stephen, who has pretty much said he'd hire a GM when he took over.

I almost wonder if Stephen wasn't the one arranging this, and when it finally came down to it, dear ol' Dad didn't like it.

Makes as much sense as anything else I can think of in this incredibly weird situation.

Kidding... Kinda. :eek::

He has hinted at that in the past.

In '95, Stephen was opposed to bringing Deion Sanders in because it would contribute to salary cap hell. Reportedly he and Jerry fought (verbally) about it, and it became really heated. Obviously, Jerry won out, but Stephen does stand up to him.

Wow, and he was right. Deion was a big mistake for many reasons.

lmao, thanks I needed a good laugh.

Yeah. Stephen is not crazy/feebleminded like some posters here, why would he do something stupid like that?

Espescially when there is no need to, now if Jerry was Al Davis then I would say do it.

Jerry knows what he is doing.

I think people need to tap the brakes a little bit.

Does anyone even know what Stephen Jones' management philosophy is?

For all intents and purposes, he could even be more hands on than his Dad.

His father has taught him all he knows about "business" and running an NFL Organization. It wouldn't suprise me one bit if he exhibits the same management style as his dad.

It took Jerry ten minutes to teach Stephen all he knows about running an NFL Organization, and he went over it twice.

I have seen him say he is the opposite a number of times.

He seemed pretty happy and comfortable when parcells was here and we operated in a more protective way.

and like cl said, he has said he would bring in a general manager if and when the time comes.

When did Stephen Jones say that?

Maybe there is a Gawd :laugh1: .
