Curious to see what unconventional predictions pop up in this thread.

Stake your claim, state your opinion, and back it up.

This should be fun. I'll start.

Cowboys defense is a raggedy turnover machine. (Think Saints defense a few years ago when they won the Super Bowl.)

Can't stop a nosebleed, but have a knack for getting turnovers. Orlando is intercepting everything in practice, Claiborne lives up to his draft pick, athletic LB group snags tons of balls out of the air, and defensive line strips at least one ball every game.

Your turn.

Defense will be about as bad as last year, causing the team to behind or swapping scores a lot. In turn the the team has to chuck it more and run it less. This causes Romo to get hit more even with a better line. Team ends up drafting top 10, Garret finally get sacraficed.

Witten endures his first major injury that causes him to miss at least half of the season. Escobar takes over and runs with it being named the next Gronk!

Sack leader will likely be George Selvie (8) and resigned to a real contract to man the LE after other "trials" are completed. 5/20

The Cowboys realize that Morris Claiborne is a pretender and release his butt at the final cut.

Jason Garrett gets a 5 year extension in-season.

Tony Romo plays a full 16 and looks good doing it.

Dunbar and Escobar head into next season as relative focal points in this offense.

JJ Wilcox and Tyrone Crawford emerge as two of the best players on this defense.

And we finish 8-8 while receiving the 16th pick in next years draft.

Im not even sure there is a consensus "unpopular" opinion anymore.

maybe 8-8 would make the most upset

I'm overtly hoping for as many wins as we can get, but I have to admit that an 8-8 season that somehow saw us as NFCE champs would be pretty amusing to see around here in the offseason. If we could follow that up with being the first 8-8 wildcard team to win a Superbowl, that would be even better. :)

Romo is broken and will not even come close to lasting the whole season. He even admits he will never be the same. Something is definitely wrong and we are going to be caught with our pants down with no QB for the future and that god awful contract that kicks in this year that makes no team even want to touch him.

Defense will be as bad as last year. Maybe slightly worse with Lee already out and a whole bunch of unproven spares on the DL. Our 2nd round pick we got already is hurt and behind schedule. He will be useless this year. This is why they are so desperate to sign Brent if he's cleared. We were down to 3 secondary guys today. That one of the coaches had to take snaps.

This could be a really bad team this year.

Our Dline will surprise people and will actually be a strength rather than a liability. Many here are too fond of saying that the sky is falling and that our dline is in shambles. I disagree with them. Its because our oline has been stout and its making our cline look like amateurs. Lets wait till they actually play in a real game. I think they get so sick practicing with our stout oline that they are going to be hungrier than ever to prove something.

We have a lot of youth that are unknown but wiling to prove themselves. Marinelli is a great teacher in getting the best out of pass rushers. I have faith not only in his coaching but also in a youthful dine that is hungry for QBs and sacks. Rome wasn't built in a day. Give it time and eventually this dline will start to shine.
