Until There is Accountability, Nothing Will Change

And this starts at the very top. With our weird structure, the GM will never be fired for all the terrible roster personnel decisions from bad contracts, free agent signings and terrible drafts year after year.

The head coach is not accountable at all from the owner for his mistakes that should have been corrected and ironed out after 2011, his first full year. Heck, he even got an extension for his mediocrity. Players here are awarded extensions and raises for mediocrity.

You get pats on the back after screw ups. These players don't fear messing up under Jason. They will just be coddled like this is a pee wee team. It sucks your drive to get better because they just become content with being average because it doesn't take much work to just waddle in mediocrity year after year.

There's a reason why this team's collective IQ is so low year after year. They get it from the coaching. And they get it from the front office.

After players leave here, they will touch on some of these things. Like Dwayne Harris did about how we run practice.

We will revisit this one game lost by one point in December when we are sitting back hoping someone beats the Giants because they are a game ahead of us in the division race.

Dallas was not a contender this season even with romo. We lose our 1st game by one point and everybody loses it. Lol

We lost by 1 point.......

And? This has been happening since 2011 for Jason. This is his 6th full season to coach and it's the same broken record. Besides the outlier year of 2014. Which was followed up by 4-12 so it was evened out.

If you think this post was in direct relation to last night's game and not a total accumulation of all that has transpired with this franchise under Jason, I don't know what to tell you.

Some people are fed up with this environment and are tired of the process and the excuses. Why fans still have them for this staff baffles me. They have accomplished nothing that warrants any trust in what they are doing.

It's now worse that we have Dak, a rookie, to be groomed in this environment. He better hope Jason gets fired because he will waddle in mediocrity like Romo.

thats what i fear the most. i hope he can separate himself from being stuck in the mud and be a catalyst to help lift this team out. i hope its different with him. i think we all do.

The two best rosters in the nfc east belong to the Giants and Cowboys. Neither team will lift the Lombardi Trophy this year but one will make the playoffs. The records will be close and most likely come down to division record. Nobody is going to run away with the division. Losing any one game that could've been won by one or two plays comes back to bite you in December.... You're welcome.

It isn't just the what that freaks people out. It's the HOW. It's constant losses where good coaching could have been the difference between winning and losing. It the constant string GOING ON FOR YEARS that just slugs to the gut after each and every heinous loss. Had a game effort been given where good plays and good decisions were the trend, then you can live with the loss, head held high. But how many times do we say after these games "man, if you had told me going in we'd have held that team to just 20 points and held TOP for nearly 40 minutes, I'd be very happy!?!" And we make those comments ALL THE TIME because we know for a team to lose under those circumstances and metrics is not normal. Moreover, it's inexplicable. It defies logic and the odds. And yet, here we are. Having blown yet another 4th quarter lead. Having seen yet another bad decision in a key situation costing us a chance to win. If you watch this team and live and die emotionally with whether it wins or loses (in other words "you're a fan") then you understand that freaking out over losses like this is indeed a very normal reaction. In fact, if the continuous manner in which this team has been losing doesn't bother you, then perhaps worse than anything, you've become numb to losing. Something to contemplate.

Finally - the vast majority of preseason predictions I saw/read picked us to win the east with a healthy Romo so I'm not sure what u mean by "not a contender"...

I didn't see Dallas as contender is what I mean. Going into the season even with romo I didn't feel this was a top 10 team. I was mad the way we lost but most people seem to think Dallas is sb bound every year. One of the main reasons people hate Cowboys fans.

Just because you get in the playoffs doesn't mean your a contender either. Look at the Texans and skins last year. They really didnt do much in the offseason for anybody to think this team is much improved if at all.

So spot-on, bloke.
I would have loved the following from Garrett:

"Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen of the press.
Suffice to say it was a close and heartbreaking game.
Let's review the low points.
Witten played like an old woman. He needs to get in gear if he wants to play 1st string. If not we have young guys waiting for a chance.
Dez, I don't know his problem, but he played a terrible game, if at all.
T Will there was no excuse for that. He does another mental error like that and he sits. We are evaluating his status.
Lee also is playing Ike an old woman. But at least he's not on IJ -- for once.
Can our defence suck more? Possibly. It's a process.
As to the game plan, I am meeting with the O coordinator. We can't play tentatively like that.
On the O line, their press clippings are great. Their play was bad, like the Longhorns line.
We expect improvements, starting now, for the next few games. But most should be ashamed, me included, to take a paycheck.
The press conference would be longer but we have work to do as evidenced by our play Sunday. Thank you."
