Just maybe the ball has bounced in the Cowboys favor for once. Players like Jayron kearse, Terence Steele and Osa O We didn't expect this kind of production from.

Its a pleasant surprise. Throw in the crazy birth of Super star Diggs and we are off to the races.

Thing that's very different is we are expecting the return of several good players as the season unfolds and the team is holding its own now.

Fingers crossed and prayers for Tyron's neck we may have some fun this year.:):starspin:

Anyone heard Jake McQuaide's name this year? Me either. That's a good thing!

This is just bringing balance back to the earth. The law of averages said this should have happened a decade ago. So we're not lucky.

This team's entire attitude is different. The confidence and intensity level is noticeably higher. It's not just the defense playing better although that's part of it. I'm getting a Parcells coached team type vibe here. Dallas is currently playing through injuries at key positions and not skipping a beat.

Perfectly said. Can’t call it luck with 25 years of misery lol. This is well overdue and probably would’ve happened without wasting years on subpar coaching.

Your final point cannot be stressed enough. Look at when Dallas has shown any life or has had success. Landry, Johnson, Parcells. Yes that 2007 team I credit to Bill.

Luck is a very small portion of a good team’s success. It’s good to have some, but bad luck is overrated. Other than losing your starting QB, most injuries are overcome-able.

I think one reason it’s been over a qtr century since we last won a divisional playoff game is because our owner/GM has thought too many times that “luck” was the only thing separating the Cowboys from a SB.
Jimmy Johnson used to say that winners “make their own luck”. Losers have excuses usually tied to “luck”.

If by “good luck” you mean this team has avoided injuries or something like that…We currently have 5 starters out due to injury or suspension. In the Garrett era, that was “bad luck” usually leading to losses. This year’s team is making its own luck.

Dude....don't jinx it...
He just did.

As all teams we are one major hit on our QB from the season derailing. And more key injuries, etc could come .

I’d argue it’s bad luck to mention our good fortune so far. It can change on a dime especially so early in the season.

it takes a dash of luck to go from say one round of the payoffs and done type team or all the way to the bowl.

injuries' play huge part of how far teams go..the entire premise of next man up doesn't cover what happens to your str qb or your best players especially like what happened in 2020..not sure 17 next mans up fit that saying..

so yes with Gallup, gallimore , KJ, wilson, tank and other on their way back after the bye, id say so far luck is on our side..

football gods and karma owe us for that disaster last season of bad luck on every level..

this has to be the first year where large majority of draft picks and FAS are all playing well.. this is a great mix of young Vets with draft picks..

maybe the Jimmy curse is lifted jones and Johnson have been communicating like old buddies this year..could that be it :)):flagwave:

Regardless who we credit we have had good seasons before in this era like in 2007 which you mentioned . 2014, 2016 and 2018 all seasons in which we were one win and basically one possession from a championship appearance.

As I look around the NFC I could see this season ending in similar fashion. And that’s not necessarily a bad season.

We could simply be knocked out by a better team and QB. There’s several out there right now which could be standing in our way.

Over the years I have made several Superstitious/Jinx threads and I can't find many to follow. Who knew I would find two in an hour..lol!! I keed, I keed.:)

Absolutely need luck both in player's health as well as having the ball bounce your way if you have your eyes on the prize. I'm not going to agree we have been luckier than anyone else in the health department and we did lose a game on a walk-off FG so there's that.

We have good play calling on both sides of the ball and the team looks like they are buying into it. That's not luck that's playing as a team. Good sound draft picks and having each other's back!

But you are right, we still could use some luck...

Until Jimmy is in the ROH I’d argue the curse is still hanging over us. And some have argued it will never be lifted as Jethro already asked for a blessing from above in 1995.

Good points. I more over made this thread because I was encouraged by the players mentioned are not usual candidates to contribute this much to a team for different reasons. It has just worked and I'm grateful.

I agree. I think we're in the mix, by no means do I think we will dominate the best in the league. In fact, I still think the Bucs win it all this year yet again. But in 2014 and 2016 we still had average or below average defenses. Dallas had to dominate TOP and have few turnovers for success. I never thought our 2018 team had any chance at a championship. This team we have right now looks to be the best we've had since 1995. Better than 2007. I say looks to be because we're only in week 6. Lets wait until the Cowboys have a poor showing to truly evaluate how good they really are.
