I would love to hear what that is?
Although I wasn't really talking about stats... per my thread 1st post.
What hasnt Owens done that Irvin did? I am asking... curious

Irvin was the consumate teammate.
No one doubted his passion, and when you saw him yelling on the sidelines, it was never accompanied by 'here we go again'.

He brought passion that energized everyone. From Aikman to Moose, with Emmitt in between, they've all said how much he meant as a teammate.

So far TO can't make the same claim and plenty of his former teammates will say the opposite. I don't buy that TO's a distraction, that most are selling, but he hasn't reached Irvin's status as a teammate yet, either.

Winning has a way of curing the blues, but even in losing, Irvin was a great motivator and didn't lay blame. We'll see if Owens can match that.

I honestly don't know how you Dallas Cowboys fans put up with Terrell Owens. First of all when he played for the 49'ers he disrespects your team in your own house by spiking the football on star in mid-field. And now you guys want to pay him millions of dollars for it? He is a constant distraction and in a very short time will prove to be a cancer on your team. He's also going to give Bill Parcells a stroke someday. Maybe T.O. has pictures of Jerry Jones in a very compromising position or something? I'm just speculating, but I bet that Parcells gives Jerry Jones an ultimatum. Either T.O. goes or Parcells will. If T.O. wants to be a the a celebrity then he should do so. Just think. T.O. could be the next Dennis Rodman.

I'm curious. How has he been a distraction this year?

It sure seems to me like the rest of the team lets him be "TO" without really concerning themselves about it too much.

As for the original topic, I think he's been great for this team. He makes every player around him better just by being on the field. Yeah, I'm still waiting for the 150-yard, 3 TD game. But if he just continues at this current pace, he likely finishes near the top 5 in catches, yards and TDs. Not bad for an "off" season.

The main thing I wanted to see all along was double digit touchdowns. We haven't seen that from the receiver position in a looong time. He still has a chance to get there.

A really good part of the offense... keeps things going... a contributor. A team player. Right now he looks like he is content with us just winning. That is a good thing.

With that said... the "playmaker" in Owens has yet truly show up...

We need more.
but we didn't want another irvin. we wanted T.O., we have not gotten T.O. yet.

He cleared himself this season by standing on the star in the end-zone and taking in the light....

Just like Darth Vader returning to the light side of the force....

You must be joking. T.O. is nothing but a distraction and he certainly isn't about the team. He's about himself. He has been quiet for the past few weeks but T.O. has had his share of outburst this season. Owens also leads the league in dropped passes.

Many Cowboy fans held that same feeling when he did not play for us. Some Cowboy fans still feel that way.

If I were Coach Parcells I would have smacked T.O. around for awhile and then sent his butt packing.

When T.O. was still available there was a thread in www.saintreport.com that asked whether or not Saints fans wanted the F/O to go after him. Overwhelmingly the answer was no. Not because we think he isn't a talented receiver. But because he's just not worth the trouble and would be a too much of a distraction to our recovery and would be a cancer on the teams morale.

Thing is there were not a lot of teams knocking down his door after he was released from Philly. At least Jerry was smart enough to make his contract basically a series of 1 year deals. My own view is the guy has 10 million dollar talent with a 10 cent brain. It is too bad we could not get the best of both worlds.

Thats the simpleton thing to do. Bill is too smart for that. He is too smart for you.

Thats funny. All of the Cowboys teammates say he has been a great teammate... their most unison line... HE JUST WANTS TO WIN.

So by my count you missed on both of your points.

Was it only a one year deal? I thought it was a longer contract than that. Good move on JJ's part.

Let me axe you this? If T.O. stays a Cowboy next season, do you expect Parcells to stick around?

Thats what they say publicly because the Dallas F/O requires them to put a good face the situation. I have no way of proving it, but my guess is that T.O. has rubbed much of the team and staff wrong as he has done everywhere else he has played. If I were playing for the Cowboys and I had to deal with his ego and shenanigans week after week I would start to get sick of it. I could be wrong but that's just what I think. I think the Saints get a lot more bang for their buck with Joe Horn, Marques Colston, Copper, Devery Henderson and even Reggie Bush.

It is a 3 year deal but his bonus money is setup where he gets so much at the end of each season. As for Parcells I don't think he would allow a player to determine if he stays or retires. At this point I do expect to see Parcells return next season and unless TO does something really bad (which he hasn't as of yet) I expect that he will also return.

keep in mind owens is much taller than owens and is able to touch balls irvin would never be able to touch, which in turn can result in them becoming harder to catch where as irvin would not touch them. Keep in mind Aikman is throwing to Irvin while we had Bledsoe and Romo.

Maybe someday Terrell Owens will stop being T.O. and start just being a great football player. He is a great talent. Someday I might also be able to solve the conflict between the Arabs and the Israelis too. Who knows? Anything is possible. However you might be right about Parcells not leaving because of T.O. But I do worry about the Tuna sometimes. Parcells isn't looking very healthy lately. Sometimes I really think that between working with Jerry Jones and dealing with T.O. he's going to have a stroke. I'm not trying to be cute or glib about that either.

Bill has been looking a lot better since the team has put together this win streak. As for working with Jerry I think the pair work well together. Lastly TO changing I still hold out hope but with each interview he does I tend the think that will not happen. I will say I can tolerate TO on many of the minor infraction he pulls as long as he does not trash teammates as he has in the past.
