Now that elimination has finally occurred, the Romo to IR will finally happen, along with Escobar.

So that leaves an opportunity to sign two players.

Looking at the PS of some teams there are a few players I wouldn't mind grabbing:

LB Gabe Martin Arizona
CB Taurean Nixon Denver
LB Carl Bradford Green Bay
S Dezman Southward Indianapolis
TE Ben Koyack Jacksonville
S Cedric Thompson Miami
CB Rashaan Melvin New England
DT Louis Nix III New York Giants
TE Wes Saxton New York Jets
OG Jarvis Harrison New York Jets
DT Deon Simon New York Jets
CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste Seattle
RB Jarryd Hayne San Francisco
DE Lynden Trail Washington

No offense Alex, but what's the point? This year was a complete waste. Players are already looking forward to their vacation destinations and T-times.

I'm burned out. I guess I could care less about churning the roster for other team's garbage.

I am just as disgusted as you are. Just trying to find something to actually look forward to other than the inevitable promotion of our own, which frankly does not excite me.

This is a chance to get a head start on the offseason. But I get how you feel, trust me.

Good thoughts, A.

Would think one of CB's would be worth a look.

For LB, Martin is probably to small and slow for our system, and Bradford is probably best-suited for a 3-4 DE backup.

BYW, elimination is a term for defecation, an appropriate choice of words.

As bad as this season has been, I'm going to really enjoy coming this to the forum from Jan. - Apr. for the draft discussion more than I have in many, many years. I'd be willing to bet that site traffic will be much higher this offseason than any other.

Nothing like losing to get everybody excited for the draft

I mean who would want to be thinking about the playoffs this time of year when you can think about how this team will screw up the draft?

Hey, just shove all your chips in the middle and watch a real NFL football team in the playoffs this year...(The Carolina Panthers)
Now they play real man football not the Dallas Cowboy (Pop Warner) variety. You're all right about coming back in April to
see how bad Jerry can muck up the draft. Should be riveting theatre. Have a long, slow, relaxing off-season like the
Cowboy players are...

I hope they sign a TE, and he looks decent enough to make them not draft one....:muttley:
They should play Swaim.
Need DB help, bring in a S.

At this point it does not hurt a thing at all to take a look.

Yep, give me more of those "the table is set for a feast" threads by people like erod who will gladly ignore the real issues (jerry and Garrett)

Good thoughts Alexander

Maybe the established guys, sure. But someone off a PS better not have that mindset.

Wouldn't mind seeing us either callup guys off our own PS, or others, and at least get them involved in ST at worst.

Bubble guys will play hard, FA's will play hard. The rest of the team will play hard...it's their pride, and what they do.
now will someone not take on a huge hit to avoid injury or something like that. Sure, why not. But doesn't mean they won't give a good effort.

I understand this, but easier said than done.

Only thing is, just can't call up the PS guys. Then a player needs to be released to make room. Unless they can find a way to IR them. Then salary cap comes into play there too. And a carry over of the remaining cap to next year.
therefore letting someone go, that may be a good player next year, better than the PS guy.
now there is churning and chances are those players may get replaced anyway. But you don't take that chance.

I know people want certain players gone. But you just don't release Church or Wilcox to play a PS guy for 2 games. Then that player sucks, then you now need to replace a serviceable player in the off season.

Now I want Church and Wilcox replaced as starters, but it doesn't mean they couldn't be some good depth.

However a few players come to mind that I want replaced all together, like Heath & Wilber. but that is just me. Others may want to keep them....:muttley:

Give me Jean-Baptiste and Nix or Simon.

I wouldn't mind Melvin and Martin off your list. I wouldn't mind taking a look at DT Derrick Lott (TB), (RB)Terrell Watson (CIN) and DE Deon Barnes (NYJ) either.

We had some interest in Martin I recall. I wouldnt love to steal Baptiste. He has alot of talent, just more raw coming out then people expected

Wow.. How do you know these scrubs? I've heard of a couple at best.

Definitely interested in the DE Lynden Trail. Raw, but has all the physical tools you look for in a DE.

I'd be interested in Nix III, Jean-Baptiste, and Jarryd Hayne. Also, any DB lol
