Now that elimination has finally occurred, the Romo to IR will finally happen, along with Escobar.

So that leaves an opportunity to sign two players.

Looking at the PS of some teams there are a few players I wouldn't mind grabbing:

LB Gabe Martin Arizona
CB Taurean Nixon Denver
LB Carl Bradford Green Bay
S Dezman Southward Indianapolis
TE Ben Koyack Jacksonville
S Cedric Thompson Miami
CB Rashaan Melvin New England
DT Louis Nix III New York Giants
TE Wes Saxton New York Jets
OG Jarvis Harrison New York Jets
DT Deon Simon New York Jets
CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste Seattle
RB Jarryd Hayne San Francisco
DE Lynden Trail Washington

being a Notre Dame fanatic, I'll take two...Mr Koyack and Mr Nix

Sad that i like some of those practice squad players from other teams more than a few of our own roster guys that are actually active on game day.

Peaking my interests, in order...

Dez Southward, CB/S (Colts)
Deon Simon, DT (Jets)
Stanley Jean-Baptiste, CB/S (Seahawks)
Lynden Trail, DE (Skins)
Tyrus Thompson, RT (Lions)
Brock Vereen, FS (Pats)
Jarryd Hayne, RB/Ret (49ers)
Cyril Richardson, OG (Bills)
Anthony Johnson, DT (Skins)
Robert Myers, OG (Ravens)

I like this, especially with how horrific and ugly the JG gameplan for "winning" without Romo is. The product on the field is just bad, so at least this is something interesting to talk about.

It would also be nice for good ol' Judd to think outside the box and do a little churning.

Id like for the FO to have a look at Louis Nix.

All very much interest me. Hayne I think meets a need for a short yardage guy who is cheap.
Simon the typical quick twitch DT who could be a rotational piece and again is cheap.
The Big CB is a nice developmental guy and we've created plenty of CB space on this roster.

No offense Alex, but what's the point? This year was a complete waste. Players are already looking forward to their vacation destinations and T-times.

I'm burned out. I guess I could care less about churning the roster for other team's garbage.

I would like to see soem churning because you might hit on a guy like Irving again.

Stanley Jean Baptiste is terrible.

Could also be the system he was thrown into with the Saints. Not saying he is great, but corners with his length don't grow on trees.

Myers, Richardson and Thompson are bad fits for Cowboys. Myers and Richardson are one dimensional and lack athleticism to play the hybrid man-zone blocking scheme that Dallas plays. Thompson did not test well but should have the athleticism. He lacks consistency, fire and work ethic however.

Hayne and Southward are raw as raw can be. Both have crazy athleticism and size. Teams need to be patient with both players as they learn to play football and develop instincts for the sport. Even though Southward is over 6" and 210 with 4.3 speed with experience at S and CB, he just doesn't understand the basics of any the positions yet. He was over drafted ats 3rd rounder strictly on his measurements. Hayne and Southward can immediately help on ST while they learn the game. Patience is key IMO.

Would love the power and size of a Nix or Simon to plug up middle of the DL. But both guys run suffers but lack the short area burst and pursuit speed that Marinelli covets. Anthony Johnson at 6'2 315 has both in spades, once ran a 4 7 40. Has the versatility of Terence McClain and considered a top 10 pick before injuries and lack of production in final year at LSU almost killed his pro career. Nickname is Freak.

Jean-Baptiste and Trail are enigmas. JB lacks the hips to be good at man coverage but has good straight line speed, 4.4 40, and great size 6-3 220 for a DB. Also is great at high pointing passes and has very good hands. Not great tackler however. Trail has lost his speed and burst as he's gained weight from 230 to 270. Both may have an opportunity to revive career by switching to the opposite side of the LOS. JB as WR and Trail at TE. If I'm Trail, beef up even more and move to OL. With defensive mindset, 4.9 speed and 6-7 frame this is where Jimmy and Landry would play him IMO. Trail also has a Cowboy connection, has been mentored by Randy White.
