Depends on grade!
Grade one, about 2 possibly 3 weeks.
Grade 2 6-8 weeks
Grade 3 (complete tear) start looking for trade deadline targets
and you're always so extra... One position we are deep at is tight end so if it was grade 3time to step up with our young guys..no trades needed.

This will give Schoonmaker an opportunity to step up. Maybe we go with John Stephens. He looks to be the better receiver of the two. Our offense really sputtered in the second half yesterday. We better hope the defense continues to play well until the offense gets more on track.

Good thing we spent a 2nd round pick on a backup TE!
OMFG the EXTRAness of fans reactions.

yet we have Stephens and Ford as next men up..we are DEEP at TE.,all they ened are reps.. its why we let schultz walk Furgy was up next these guys could be good..

Lol,
Is Ferguson the only player who’s ever going to sprain his ligament?

I work at a state mental health facility and sprained my MCL back in February. They just hand out the info packets covering all the grades… not just your particular one and well I like reading when my mobility is limited!

still a pick that should not have happened. We had real holes that we could have filled

I doubt he will miss much time...even if he is 60% then he will probably play since they have nothing else on the roster after him.

Good to hear the injury is minor. It looked bad when it happened and I was preparing to hear he was out for the season

Even more than just when will he get back on the field, my further concern with these ligament injuries, how effective will he be when he gets back? You need ligaments to make cuts and having that movement. Being limited in this manner, it can make you less if yourself. This offense works much better when we have an effective TE working the middle of the field. It opens it up just a tad more on the outside for our playmaking WRs. And not to mention, Ferguson himself is a playmaker. Losing him or having him at a lesser level for the next gauntlet of games will hurt our offense. Too bad Schoonmaker looks like a dud, we could really use our 2nd round pick in these situations. We need someone to step up like Lively did for Ravens did last year when Andrews went down.

i'm saying there's absolutely no reason to go after a FA TE or trade for one, we didn't go after another cornerback when bland went down, I believe we have some untapped talent there with Ford and Stephens.....

Lol,
I wasn’t saying there was either!
I was just pointing out that a grade 3 would most likely be season ending as “part” of the answer to the question asked.

By all accounts Ferguson looks to be grade 1.
Again, the answer was to time missed for a MCL sprains and wasn’t specific to Ferguson!

and HE's saying that these are general guidelines as far as severity and timelines. He wasn't suggesting we acquire anyone.

I get that but when i read that it said if it's grade 3, you need to go get player, and im saying regardless grade 1 or 3 we are in good position at TE and dont need to go get one even IF Furgs is out for the year IMHO

right we understand. again he wasn't suggesting we go get a player, whether we wound up losing him for the year or not. that was just his rating system for the injuries in general. not for dallas, not for ferg.

Tough break for fergy. But next man up, schoon and whoever have some big shoes to fill. I think it'll take more than 1 guy to fill the void. Leupke, lets go big man.
