We all know he set a record for Touchbacks in a season, but everyone said it couldn't possibly be a NFL record, it had to be a team record.

WRONG:

David Buehler set the new NFL Record for touchbacks in a season, he hit 29.

The former record was 27.

Congratulations to the Buehler.

Edit: Sorry I read the article wrong, He infact broke the team record which was 27 by Lin Elliot in 1992, Buehler had 29 in 2009; but soon enough he will break the NFL Record which I can not locate anywhere.

He could have had more if he kicked them all as hard as he could instead of kicking for coverage.

How many touchbacks does he need in the playoffs to break the playoff record?

umm no it was a team record, Lin Elliott is #2 with 27

Just last season Rhys Lloyd from Carolina had more (30)

we were chatting about this on Sunday and here is what i came up with.

right, and using that sight just flipping through each year since they moved the kickoffs to the 30 yard line in 1994 the single season record is mitch berger from minny who had 40 in 1998.

So since 1994 he tied for the 3rd highest single season total pretty sweet.

1.Mitch Berger , Min 40 - 1998
2.Rhys Loyd , Car 30 - 2008
3.David Buehler, Dal 29 - 2009
3.Craig Hentrich, Ten 29 - 1998
3. John Hall , NYJ 29 - 1997

Fantastic, I believe before it is all set and done he will be able to break that easily.
