We are in Lubbock. We just got back from seeing the urologist. He has cleared us for transplant (tx). The only thing that could postpone the tx is that both of us had white blood cells in our urine. That could be normal for me because of my kidney failure. It could also be normal for my donor. He is running a culture to make sure we dont have infections. If either of us have an infection, then they will have to postpone the tx until we don't have infections.

Soooo.... that is all the info I have for now. We will be admitted to the hospital in the morning and I will update again.

Hellooooo!!!! I just got out of ICU and am able to use my laptop. Everything went great!!! As soon as they hooked up the new kidney it started working. Before my transplant my creat (crud in my blood) was 4.9. At 6 am it was 1.9. My coordinator said that was the fastest jump he had ever seen. Normal creat levels are 1.7!!!!! Joyce, my donor is great. She was discharged this morning and is home at her mothers and doing well... she is one strong cookie! Her incision is at least 12 inches and did not take one narcotic pain killer... she is stronger than I. I will try to go post a pic of us where the pictures are.....
