Reportedly after struggling most of the offseason, he's back to kicking well again for the Jets. Supposedly has been on a roll at their training camp after their special teams coach developed some sort of gadget to help him with the mechanics.

Also blames The Buehler for coming back from his injury "too soon"

This is my only gripe about this offseason. I think he should have been brought back. It seemed obvious his injuries cost him all his work last offseason, so when he is healthy I cant imagine he wont go back to being a good kicker.

but, the idea of two kickers on a roster is pretty bad so hopefully buehler can pull it off.

I hate to even suggest this, but without question the nightmare scenario for the Super Bowl would have to be Nick Folk nailing a 50 yd FG as time expires to beat the Cowboys in our own stadium.

Pretty sure Buehler has given every indication that hes going to be just fine. once the preseason is over i fully expect for him to have proven the doubters wrong.

I was already thinking it before you suggested it. A lot would have to happen for that scenario to take place. Folk would have to get back to form. The Cowboys would have to make history by making it to the Super Bowl in their home stadium. The Jets would have to prove that last year was no fluke (not sure they're for real). The game would have to come down to the last second, etc. Anything can happen, though. A great scenario would be if The Buehler kicks the winning FG in Super Bowl XLV. His legend would grow beyond imagination.

My biggest problem with how the Folk situation played out is that why he was never given a true kicking coach to work with. He had a history of being able to kick at a high level and then after the injury he was all over the place. If I were a head coach in the NFL I would have a kicking coach soley on the staff to work with the punter and kicker. Special teams is too important to have to flounder through a season wondering if the kicker can nail a 30 yard field goal. I blame Jerry for not doing that last year as our kicking game was one of the worst in the league. Nick Folk has talent and I hope he turns things around this year as he made some huge kicks for us.

Just like we've said with Buehler, I want to see Folk make some kicks in actual games. When a kicker loses his confidence, his mind may only play tricks on him once he's in a pressure situation.... Like with Vandershank.

Also, I liked Folk as much as anyone, but once we cut him he may not have wanted to come back here.

Buehler's got the stronger leg, that's why Folk would have lost his job to him anyway IMO.

He's got 5 preseason games to show what he can do...so we'll see.

Well that then gives insight into Folk's psyche, because it's obvious that the ocaches make these decisions, not players. "Blaming" anything on Buehler shows how juvanile folk's mentality must have been, and that probably has more to do with his inability to push through the damaged confidence that plagueh him and turned him into a bad kicker.

I still think we should have put Folk on the IR (or at least the PUP) last year.

score 27-27--time expiring-- they rush Folk in for a 58 yarder--wide right and short--replay determines that 1 second remains --Buehler in for a 72 yarder--it's good -- the ball sails through the window at the end of the stadium and Buehler is taken up into heaven by a fiery chariot

The hell with his legend, I'd rather win 48-0

Except the Cowboys bring in The Buehler for FG defense (for the first time all year) and he blocks the kick, perserving the Dallas win.

:lmao: LMAO! I was reading through this post and I was going to post something similar like Folk tying it at the end of regulation with his 50 yarder and then Buehler coming in to kick a 58 yarder in OT to cap the win. But I yield Hoosier. Well done.

I bet the Jets don't even make the playoffs.

I can see the forum taking up pitchforks and heading to the stadium to burn it down.:laugh2:

I will like to see Folk in live action before I can even fanthom your doomsday scenario.

The Buehler's power is so great that he wont have to actually take the field. He can close his eyes and simply will Folk into missing on purpose.

I should have remembered that. Folk fears the wrath of Buehler, just as most do.
