Allen Rossum-DB- Cowboys Oct. 27 - 11:40 pm et

Cowboys KR/PR Allen Rossum's hamstring strain will keep him out indefinitely.

Patrick Crayton, the Week 7 NFC special teams Player of the Week, will take over on punts. Miles Austin and Felix Jones are options to return kickoffs.

Well, he did look the ball into his hands and did not fumble....those are positives!

Well that was short lived:rolleyes:

yeah but what i liked is this; crayton said that rossum has helped him a ton on receiving punts, etc, returning etc, maybe this move has helped crayton with rossum tutoring him some for crayton to improve his punt returns

rossum might have even shown hiim something as far as playing wr too

Ok, so we don't activate him for games, and only cut him if other injuries pile up and we need the room o the roster. But if we don't need the room, then keep him until he heals because he can be invaluable come playoff time.

Give him an injury settlement and let him go. Activate J-Will, CuJo, or Ogletree if they've been inactive.

No reason to keep him around if he is going to be out an extended period of time. He isn't that good of a returner to occupy a roster spot when he isn't contributing.

He's a pretty bad cb so I doubt he could teach Crayton anything he didn't already know.

How long does it take to design an injury settlement?

I agree at this point release him, we cant miss what we have never had, and activate Ogeltree, JJ keeps touting him every chance he gets, make the kid active and lets see what we have in him before it gets too late in the season to take a chance on a rookie............

Rossum was a CB by position but never really played it. He was a KR/PR specialist his whole career.
