Updated: Adrian Peterson suspension overturned, but is NOT reinstated

Not really. Peterson can likely force his way out of there. The Vikings do no want to have him count 15 million against their cap, only QB and maybe DE/OLB should ever count that much.

Not really Minn owns his rights he is not going anywhere. Peterson can't force a damn thing. He can whine about it and he is. I think he is using this as a means to get more guaranteed money from the vikes.
What is AP going to do sit out another season? yeah right he would be 31 year old back 2 years removed from the NFL. Ball is in Minn court

One thing continues to be left out and that is Minn holds the cards.

Kind of. Kind of not.

Peterson is a $15 million cap hit this year and the next two years. They want to restructure that, and he's going to refuse because he wants out.

They can't trade that contract easily unless it's somewhere he wants to go and Peterson agrees to restructure with the new team. And I don't see a team guaranteeing $45 million for three years.

If he refuses to restructure, they might have to just release him. THAT is what could bring him here.

They might and summer may come early in Minn. lol

anyone know the date of when they would likely need to decide on cutting him or not if he refuses to restructure

You guys are right about Minny but I can't see where forcing him to play for a team he doesn't want to play for is good for their young squad.

I absolutely think they will do the smart thing and move on from that horrible coNtract

Nice write up. The problem is what do we do with Murray in the meantime? Do we let him walk in FA and skip out on a RB in the draft and hope that we end up getting AD in June/July sometime? It's just a lot of moving pieces/risk for a team that has a fantastic Oline and relied heavily on the running game last year.

They are 20M under the cap with his contract included. They can wait as long as they want. His 12.75M base salary is not guaranteed unless he is on the roster for game 1.

per twitterverse: Judge Doty overturned the Peterson suspension and he will be reinstated unless the NFL decides to take it to next level.

Just in time for FA...

Let the games begin!!!!

Now we are talking finally some good news!! Two weeks from now he is going to be released and this place is going to be going nuts when he is signed to a three year deal!!
