Updated Cowboys draft picks

With our current number of players and the upcoming draft, I suspect some cuts from within shortly after the draft. Wonder who's getting their walking papers ?

The one thing this says is that Dallas wants their next QB to be fast and athletic, like Dak used to be.

If they ever do develop and start to get it, then x,y,z..

Really, you want a guy who can get you through games like Rush did.

I suspect he'll be coaching QBs someday. He's a lot like Kellen Moore. Very intelligent, as far as football Xs and Os fundamentals. Just not athletically gifted.

Here are the updated Dallas draft picks.
10 picks

1 - 12
2 - 44
3 - 76
5 - 149
5 - 174, comp
6 - 204, from Buffalo
6 - 211, comp
7 - 217, from NE
7 - 239, from Tennessee
7 - 247, from Carolina

Our traded away picks
4 - to Carolina, Mingo
5 - comp to Buffalo, Elam
5 - comp to NE, Milton
6 - to Tennessee, Murray
7 - to Detroit, from trade in 2024 draft

I think I got this right.

Man I'd kill to get that 4th back from the Mingo trade. The start of day 3 is one of the most exciting parts of the draft. And basically the last gasp at quality players before you're scraping the barrel
They have options. With 7 picks in rounds 5-7. They can trade up. Or trade down in the 1st to get extra picks.

I agree though, start of day 3 goes fast and furious, with little time to make trades. Therefore teams may get desperate. It can be fun.

Need to trade down, unless someone falls to us, then trade back up. We don't need 2 5's, 2 6's and 3 7's.

The new 7th rounder we got from the Pats is relatively high in that round.

Trade looks good in my eyes. If we used a 5th to draft Milton last year, nobody up in arms today would have likely crapped on the pick.
Someone's really up in arms about giving up a 5th? Weird.

This is a draft where your want extra picks in rounds 3-5. But it is also a draft where volume is good. There will be some prospects in 6 and 7 that will be good choices. But I think we will see the Cowboys trade some of these picks to move up. I still think when all is said and done they will be looking at just 7 or 8 selections. Of course this depends on trade partners willing to move down.

If Mingo was in this year's draft, and using his time in the NFL so far for the scouting report, would he be a top 114 player? Maybe, maybe not, but he's got some tools. His QBs so far in his NFL career have been less than stellar for sure.

Let's be cognizant of the fact that we were lucky enough to have Joe Milton as our prospective backup and that he was had by way of a 5th round pick. Getting upset over Mingo at this late date is foolish. Milton will either be a blessing or not. Let's not get all upset at this late date. We're lucky to have Joe Milton. Let's wish him well and be glad for the opportunity that awaits him as our #2 QB.
