Amen. I'm pissed that we kept a 3rd quarterback, but I can understand the decision. But if you're going to keep a third QB, make it someone that can give us a fighting chance if he's in the game! When Adrian Hamilton is leading the NFL with sacks and Stephen McGee is sitting on his couch at age 30 Garretts gonna look pretty silly on this'n

No I just don't get the thinking, if they would explain it that would help. What is the point of keeping McGee?

Right...the front office of an NFL team is going to come out and say, "Well, we kept this guy because we like what he offers us in this area. Is that okay with everyone, or should we change our minds and cut him?"

Assuming they actually do keep him, then they have their reasons, whatever they are...even if it's only as a security blanket in the event that Romo gets injured.

If every player was 100% healthy for all 16 games and McGee was our starter we would be picking #1, or 2 next draft.

So would any other team in the league if their #3 QB was starting for the whole season. This statement is perhaps one of the greatest DUH moments in the history of these forums.

Just as an FYI, they're reporting on the NFLNetwork that Miami is talking to the Packers about potentially trading for WR James Jones. So those of you who were thinking we'd bring in a vet from Green Bay when they made their cuts can potentially start dreaming elsewhere.

And for the record, I don't think a veteran WR is in the picture at all unless someone completely unexpected and off the radar becomes available.

The reports on the Fan 105.3 now are that they're hearing that McGee is on the way out. Maybe he's the 22nd guy that hadn't been informed earlier...

Cutting Coale and Hamilton doesn't really bother me that much. I liked Coale, but non-elite receivers are a dime a dozen and can be had most years on Day 3 or as UDFA. For every late round pick like Coale, there are a number of UDFA's that can be had to compete with him (cf. Beasley, Holmes, Benford, Radway, etc).

Hamilton has a lot of potential as a situational pass rusher, but he doesn't look ready to handle all the responsibilities of an OLB in our system. Plus, he's older. He'll turn 25 in November, which means that by the time he's ready to contribute, you'll only get a few good years out of him.

Not happy about either cut, but Coale hasn't been able to show much and Hamilton didn't in the last preseason game.

I could see Hamilton making it to the PS. I'm not sure about Coale, but teams really don't have a reason to put him on their 53 unless they just absolutely think the potential is there over the guys they've been looking at all preseason.

(Could see Miami picking him up just based on that sweet, one-handed catch he made.)
