Now that we’ve locked up Gregory, have re-worked Lawrence’s contract and traded Cooper draft needs appear to be coming a bit more clear.

WR: Lamb becomes WR1 and Gallup becomes WR2. With the amount of money invested in the position not a big fan of taking a WR in round 1 unless the board is wiped. Need a WR3 / slot.

LG: arguably our biggest need.

1T: hoping Bohana continues to develop but would love a stronger prospect to push and create competition.

S: hearing we’re working on Kearse but could be a pretty big need if we don’t sign.

Developmental OT

TE: Jarwin is gone and Schultz is on the tag. Would love to hit here so we don’t overpay Schultz.

Just kidding…Gregory to Broncos so DE back up to the top of the list lol.

Typical Cowboys.

Will Randy’s contract end up being a good one for Denver? I doubt it.

OG, DE, WR, LB , TE, S are all needs. DT is a need too but may be a “would be nice to have” if we can get our FA DT’s back.

I mean, dudes 29 and in his prime so if he plays like he did last year it probably will be.

Regardless DE is a hole again at a premium position that costs a ton. I’d be seeing how much some of these older vets like Jones costs and it would still be my top choice at 24.

Let's see.........
TE HUGE need as the one last year was woeful and he just got paid-- for a year. Time to get his replacement.

DE......... Huge need till Von or Jones or another DE is signed

NT/1T....... Dallas doesn't look for one, but they end up needing one EVERY year, but seem like they are position BLIND

LG......... as of the moment, they could still move LC to LG and be fine, as soon as they cut him though..........another HUGE need

LT........ man someone is going to have to take TSmith's place sometime soon......good year to get his replacement.

LB....... with Parsons being a Jack of all trades, and Cox coming off an injury........really a HUGE need.

S...... they need to sign Kearse -- or a big NEED for Quinns D.

WR.... released their #1, but they still have what they hope is a #1 in CD and a #2 in Gallup.......so need yes, but #3 WR is just a need not a huge one.

OC.....they have Biadasz being over powered quite often, so need yes..but maybe not huge need.

RB.... Pollard is in his last year and Zeke is going down hill fast........need but not huge need

and frankly QB..........even if you love Dak, still need a legitimate backup QB...... definite need

So as of this moment.........I don't think they need to look at CB, LS, or 3T, but could easily choose just about any other position, K and P included.

I'm now thinking, if Ojabo were to be there at 24 would they do it? Is he another Kwitty Paye?

If they go BPA through the entire draft, and move up or down as the draft dictates it, the can end up with starter level players throughout the draft.

I would probably draft a punter and kicker late in the draft. You can lock up one of the best ones available, on the cheap and really help your team.

Can make a good case for BPA early and often…I think we’ll see the value position rise though.

More of a Cliff Avril

Overview
Emerging edge defender who should see a substantial leap in play consistency with more time to work on his technique and learn the game. The upside is evident, despite his inexperience. At times, the run tape can be a rough study, but it improved as the 2021 season progressed. Ojabo's rush approach is fairly sophisticated with the feet and agility to juke, stutter, spin and race his way past offensive tackles. He's not ready to take on pro run blockers, but Ojabo is in the early stages of his physical and play development. It would be wise for evaluators to project and grade the flashes as a high-upside rush talent with 4-3 and 3-4 appeal.
Strengths
  • Defensive scout team player of the year in 2019.
  • Holds himself and others to a standard.
  • Improved block take-ons as season progressed.
  • Spies runner through engagement and works toward him.
  • Speed to close down outside runs.
  • Rush is unpredictable and unusually diverse.
  • Confuses tackles with altered cadence and stutter steps.
  • Able to find a second gear at the top of the rush.
  • Fluid inside/outside spin move and able to stack moves.
  • Always searching for the strip sack.

Ive seen that they are planning to extend Shultz. But we will see I guess.

WR is probably not going to be a priority unless something crazy happens. They will probably make a Randal Cobb type signing at some point

We should fill the LG, WR, TE, DE and LB in free agency over the next couple of weeks and then the order of what really is needed should show.

If rumors are correct (and they never are), we could possibly see Von Miller and Bobby Wagner sign with Dallas. Highly unlikely either will and only a miracle both would. It would be the biggest coup Dallas has had in 20 years. I do expect Kearse to be sign today before FA opens but things always in flux with the FO so who really knows.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Hernandez LG signed to a one or two year deal, and/or O.J. Howard TE signed to the same sort of deal (Jones have tried to get him for years), and/or JuJu Smith-Schulter WR also on the same type of deal. There will be a number of vet minimum deals probably for Urban and Watkins and Turner. Armstrong may get a decent 2 or 3 year deal but $$ will be the issue for him and if Miller actually does come to Dallas then doubtful Armstrong is resigned.

Hernandez makes sense to shore up LG until at least the draft. Howard is a pass catching TE which it appears we value more than one that can actually block. JuJu seems to have a great re pore with Dak as reports that they have been working out together and JuJu running Dallas routes and formations (2 and 2 still make four if reports accurate).

Deshon Elliot S could be a target if Kearse not resigned. Wouldn't mind Rashad Penny RB on a cheap 2 year deal, think he could be a surprise. Uchenna Nwosu DE could be an interesting guy if not signed this week. Kyzir White at ILB would be an interesting case also. Dante Fowler Jr DE is a guy that wouldn't surprise me to see Dallas sign as Quinn may want him since he drafted the guy and knows him well.

Anyway, depending on what they do will somewhat dictate need although Dallas will typically draft BPA (in an area of need) and right now the greatest need to me is keeping the QB protected so OL will not surprise me one bit.

Its a solid TE class, I would not give Schultz big money at all and just make him a stop gap for the rookie to develop.

LB is a big need, we only have Parsons, I like Cox , but will see.

LG and LB is the priority

I know Cox got hurt, but my gut says the team is high on him and expects him to play.

After Dean/Lloyd, he’s be right in the mid with all these other LBr prospects coming out this year IMO.

If the team feels that way, I’d be trying to find a LBr that can play the run.

Chennal is the ideal fit for what this team needs. A downhill, two down LB who is excellent at taking on and shedding blockers.
