Those 6 sacks were second on the team behind Parsons. He also got a number of pressures. Good luck coming up with a player in the fourth round who will help the team anymore than he did. Fans are pissed off at him for leaving and his Twitter comments but he was one of our better defensive players. We’ll find out this season if we’re better off without him.
Agreed. I'm not into this idea that we can let our better players go for comp picks that allow us to replace them. Sure, it will get you more players, but it won't improve the quality. This year, we had to use a second-round pick to replace Gregory, so it's a net loss considering we could have used that pick on another position if we had signed Gregory. Of course, the hope is that we end up improving the position with the addition of Williams, but that's certainly not guaranteed.
I'm happy to get the comp picks rather than nothing, but gathering as many comp picks as possible isn't a proven way to build a team.
