Updates and bits

Ping pong is great but if you want to really start to change the culture get Jerry the heck out of the locker room and off the sidelines. He should be watching from a distance. He shouldn't be interacting with players or coaches during practices. If he needs to talk to Schottenheimer call him.
Get rid of the public tours while these players are working out and let Schottenheimer handle all press conferences with the media.
Basically get outta the way Jerry!
he has to start with not landing his helicopter on the practice field during practice....lets start with small stuff.

second, take away the windows where players workout...its not a freaking show.

Good Post, Hopefully the Culture Change will bring with it some much needed disapline, penalties killed this team during the McCarthy era.It is hard to be successful is this league if you lead the league in penalties, this must improve.
MM said the same thing when he was hired. people don't remember 2 years back much less 5 years back. same thing with Garrett. how many times did we hear culture from him. then during Wade, it was Jerry who talked about culture change. and parcells did the same thing.

Jerry counts on people not remember 4 years ago to be able to re-sell the same thing. over and over.

It’s a piece that has nothing of substance. I’m not buying into anything until these players perform.
This is absolutely the best time of the year for the resident homers.

They have crawled out from beneath their rocks and won't even recognize the fact that they were wrong last season.

They have their FO acquiring jags, busts, and rookies and can now make the same unbased proclamations they did last season, just with different coaches and players.

As the season progresses and reality sets in, they again start going back into the shadows and vow "we'll show em next year", lol

And therein lies the problem. Great teams are cohesive units that all operate on a single wavelength. Not this subculture within a culture nonsense. The latter is how you end up with Sam Williams planning a victory party before the GB game.
So that is Jerry's fault too?
In your eyes, probably yes. Then again, you never have anything positive to say.
And then Balme it on 30 years battle cry.

Jerry seems to be doing better in some areas, he seems to be letting the Head Coach make decisions and It looks like things are improving. The Parsons contract could have and should have been done by now however. It will be interesting to see what Schottenheimer's staff can do with the culture in Big D.Looks good early on though.

True.
Haters will hate no matter what.
Homers will homer no matter what.

Then there are those of us, like myself, that are in between. Can look at the bright side, and also see the things are are not so good. However, we get the brunt from the haters and hammers because they do not agree.

It’s Jerry’s franchise. He sets the tone for it and he alone is responsible for 30 years of this cancerous culture. Not sure how you blame someone else for this.

What positivity should anyone have looking at 30 years of just utter garbage? Whatever pride this franchise had to its name has long been spent. We are a sad punch line.

I'd be happy with a NFC Championship game first. It is kind of sad that the furthest we've gotten since the glory days is 2014, while we continue to see other teams win around the league, and see other teams in the Metroplex do better in their sports than the cowboys do in football. Don't get me wrong, I've been to two Cowboys Superbowl parades, A Dallas Stars Stanley cup parade, a Dallas Mavericks parade. I love seeing all the local teams here having success but I am a Cowboys fan first and foremost, and it hurts seeing no progress being made, that the team can't even get to an NFCCG. Culture is what is most wrong with the Cowboys, but can we honestly say the new coach isn't another puppet? I had hopes with Big Mike, but I don't quite feel we upgraded either with the coach.
I understand both sides but what I have seen so far gives me hope for the future in Dallas.

he always always always does that after a disasterous season. if we had a decent season, then he meddles, he tries to tweak things and he always does the wrong thing. but when shiet hits the fan, he steps back. seemingly showing he has changed. he doesn't like being called out, even last season when he was, he becamse combative....
next season he will be back meddling again. if we do good, then he meddles to take credit and tries to tweak again. if we do bad, he will justify it because he is the GM and he as to meddle.

its going to turn into shiet sooner or later. its jerry.

Yep, on cue as usual, the negative Nancie’s chime in.
LOL.

30 years of failure will create more negativity then positivity.

Imagine if you were at your job for 30 years, seen 10 different supervisors but the same President, and the new Supervisor comes in and says "I swear things are going to be different this time."

Would you be apprehensive and want to see it instead of hear it?

Yup. Cant do anything other than complain.
I get what you’re saying, but so many years of coaching, so-called culture and training camp slogan changes with the same end result can make fans jaded.

It’s not easy being a Cowboys fan.

In a sense, I now know how the Lions fans felt all those years.
