Romo was pressured most of the day.

The ground game ground to a halt.

You make the call,

Someone ask Colombo's little nephew iffin he can come in and help these guys.
But seriously, my court-monitored Zone brothers, this is another Supreme Truth: Anyone who doesn't think we need O line help badly this offseason is not thinking clearly.

Agreed. One of the worst performances I have ever seen from the O-line.

I say build around a healthy Columbo next year: Flo and Gurode are liabilities sometime. the rest are just nothings. Big is serviceable but needs continuing education.

There are good players there. I really dont get how this is happening.

Its got to be scheme issues, our running plays are completely predictable.

The OL has been overrated for years.....

They talk about their massive size....but when push comes to shove....they get out worked ....

Romo makes the OL look better then it is.....and its been like that since Romo took over as QB.

If you want to run a slow footed....cant make u miss RB like Barber.....you need very good OL blocking.....

The Shotgun draw can only work so many times....

I agree they were pretty bad in run blocking, but think they did a pretty decent job in pass protection. Romo was pressured some yeah, but he had 55 attemps, and the amount of pressure wasn't that much for the number of attempts, particularly against a decent defense. He often had time to find an open man, particularly on 3rd down, and very rarely did he not have room to step up into the pocket.

He was sacked twice, both in the 1st quarter. That means for 3 quarters, and about 40 attempts and zero sacks. That's not awful protection.

I agree. The line should never be overpowered in the running game as it was often in this game, but the pass protection wasn't bad considering the number of passes we threw.

The O-Line is the very core of the stupidity that plagues this team.

Agreed...

Along with the officiating (again), they were the biggest reason for the loss...

No push whatsoever...absolutely horrific effort on their part.

I also don't recall any false starts or holding calls on the line.

It will be interesting to see what transpires from here on out.

I think Columbo needs to get healed up for next year.I think Brewster and Free will push him next camp.

I think Davis is fine where he's at.

Gurode is most likely safe.

Kosier needs to be upgraded. He has good technique but isn't strong enough at the point of attack to blow someone off the ball.

Flo likely gets another year here but a replacement needs to be found sooner than later.

I think if they get more power on the left side it will help some.As it stands now Kosier and Adams can't blow anyone off the ball on a consistent basis.

Our o-line has been terribly inconsistent with run blocking for a while now. It's not our runningbacks, it's the o-line.

Absolutely agree.

I think the run game is bad because of the scheme. I don't care, you can't coach size. Tell those guys to move forward and have Marion slam in there behind them. It's what they love to do. Our run plays are to complicated for the way this OLine is built.

Me and my friend were playing Madden during halftime and I told him the game was unrealistic because Garrett doesn't have I Form HB Slam in his playbook:laugh2:

The run game's problem is a combination of Garrett overthinking himself and making a scheme that isn't right for this OLine, and the inconsistency of the OLine's focus.

That's putting it mildly. They are just too big, fat, stupid and lazy for Garrett's scheme.

It is a concern when a fan points to a lack of false starts or holding calls. You imply that the team is suddenly not doing these things. The inference is that you a grateful that they didn't.Almost like saying pappy didn't go to jail Saturday night. Not a good sign.

I agree the O' Line didn't show up ,but what bothers me is that some games they're terrific and Tony has all day and the holes are huge, and then there are days like Sun.

I just don't get it.

Is it preparation or is it the different schemes they see.

If it's the schemes, then it's coaching.

The OL has been at the heart of the problem for this team for a long time. I pre-dates Garrett by years, though, and we did almost nothing to address it during the offseason.

Between blown pickups and ineffective run blocking at crunch time, it's an issue. For some reason, we pretend the problem is play calling and usually like to blame the QB, instead, but the line was a primary reason we fell apart at the end of last season, too.

Stupid and lazy but big and fat has nothing to do with it. Our guards are very athletic and Columbo is pretty good in space. BUT, there are only a handful of lineman ever (Larry Allen) that are huge and can move well enough to be effective in a complex run scheme.

This is a huge powerful line, and Garrett tries to play finesse football with them.

It would be like trying to throw a jump ball to Wes Welker, or having Ray Lewis cover Greg Jennings in the slot. They are both great players, but that's not what they're built to do.

Bill Belichek is the best coach in the league not because he cheats, but he takes players off the street, finds what they are good at, and puts them in the position to do that. He doesn't try to bend them to his scheme, but alters his scheme to fit the players that he has. Garrett is not capable of that.
