You watched Dave Johnson? He is more impressive as a receiver than runner and he is a pretty solid runner and blocker. He sets up his moves and breaks better than a lot of WR rated far above him. Even better, he would project to F-back as well as halfback and replace Clutts.

Randle Williams DMC Johnson. I kinda like that idea in the third better than Ajayi or Coleman in the second should we lose out on Gordon and Gurley in the first.
Johnson would be interesting. His cuts are impressive and his burst for his size is definitely on an elite level. Obviously his ability in the passing game is absurd. I wouldn't be upset with him in the 3rd or 4th at all.

By the way, I love Clutts. Not sure why we need to replace him, other than him being old. Not sure Johnson is a good enough blocker to be a fullback.

He is a really good receiver. I don't know if he is big enough (6-1, 224) to be an H-back or Blocking back. If he was on the roster it seems like they could find ways to use him other than just a a pure RB, but I don't know what round it would be worth it to draft him. As strictly a RB he looks like about a 5th round pick to me.

Johnson accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl and is seeking to become the first Northern Iowa running back drafted since 1966. However, many NFL scouts see him as a better prospect as an H-back.

"I would be open to anything to get me on the field," he said. "If they want me to play a different position, I'd be more than happy. I just want to get on the field and help the offense to be efficient. I do want to play running back, but if the coach wants me in the slot or at H-back, I'll do it."
