News: USAToday: Nice! Jalen Guyton goes down swinging with 69-yard tackle-breaking TD

During the early parts of training camp, the two names floated as potential sleepers at the receiver position for the Dallas Cowboys were Jon’Vea Johnson and Jaylen Guyton.

It’s taken awhile, but Guyton finally broke through in Thursday night’s final preseason tilt against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Trailing 17-9, Guyton turned a routine play into a 69-yard touchdown catch. The two point conversion was no good.

At some point in the process it was clear that Guyton had lost the battle against his teammate Johnson. Despite having little to no chance at making the final roster after cuts, he has flashed the ability and athleticism to possibly contribute down the line, making him a solid practice squad candidate.
