Got off light?

What would be appropriate?

They are going to take a HUGE hit in the wallet.

Every major school is guilty of shady business, USC got caught.

Bowl games are worth millions. That's bigger than the scholarships IMO. Seeing that Bowl games are based on popularity instead of actual performance, USC takes a bigger hit by not being bowl eligible.

The Bowl ban is huge no doubt. Assuming the parameters are true, the loss is 20 scholarships over 2 years, or five a year? To take them from 85 scholarship players to 80? That doesn’t seem like much of a penalty to me. That’s less than ten percent of their scholarship players. We know that means the lowest five guys on the charts, so of the forty guys on offense and forty on defense, just$c* loses 5 fourth-stringers. That’s supposed to be a penalty? That’s nothing.

I wish the penalty was worse, this is just so satisfying. Its felt as if us UCLA fans were trapped in some dimension where everyone but us UCLA fans were completely blind to the obvious cheating going on at U$C.

For so long now we’ve begged the NCAA to show some balls and come after them, for so long we’ve watched SC fans laugh as they skate away without punishment. Well finally it seems we can give a big SUCK IT to every stuck up, slimy, bandwagon riding USC fan, and man i’d be lying if I said I wasn’t thrilled

Growing up on the Westside, it has always felt a bit like its me against the world when it comes to the UCLA-SC rivalry, its been a tough decade for football, and I haven’t felt this good since 13-9, in fact, I feel better, because I think we’re finally going to end the great disparity in this rivalry

It is kind of pathetic how the NCAA has chosen now to really investigate and punish them instead of when they were a powerhouse in the mid 2000s. NCAA probably thinks USC won't get a large bowl game so the NCAA won't lose much money. The NCAA is so fricking greedy.

Does anyone know where all the money goes?

Now you know why Pete Carroll is with the Seahawks. Instead of facing the music he leaves USC hanging in the wind because of what he did.

How many of their most talented guys are going to stick around if they cannot compete for a bowl game or national title? How many top recruits will want to go to a school that is currently on probation? This will affect recruiting, the only question is how much.

Yeah that really makes me mad. He is the football version of Calipari. Always leaving before the ish hits the fan. I hope he fails miserably in Seattle.

I just wish there was a way to punish the guilty instead of punishing those who did nothing wrong. The current kids on the team are the ones paying the price.

USC got off very lite on this deal.

I do wonder if Henderson will decommit. I think he had that in his commitment letter. If SC gets caught, he is free of his letter. If he does decommit, there is a very good chance he will end up at Texas. He was considering Texas right at the very end. Could be interesting.

Count me in as one of the guys that thinks it sucks for the members of the program who are "clean" and had nothing to do with the violations.

However, there really isn't a way to punish the players who are guilty that have moved on, so this is really the best alternative.

No one got it as bad as SMU and the NCAA death penalty they were handed.

Yeah, the old SWC. None of the running backs could read or right, everybody had a new car and oil ran like water. I do miss the old SWC.

The guy on ESPN said Bush might have to give up his Heisman.

Which would make me LOL.

Who would it go too, the runner up?

Vincent Young should have won it that year anyway.

Embargo over, Bloodbath for USC: Vacate 04 BCS title game, all 05 season. 15 scholly limit for next 3 years -- a loss of 30 scholarships. Also, two year bowl ban.

The guy said that no, the runner-up wouldn't get it... It would just show as nobody winning that year. Not sure why that is.
