When we are all the way back we will be in the NC game and winning and all you poor losers will be hating every second. I will just smile and enjoy it.
You sound like some 14 year old that is essentially saying "Nu uh" without providing any substantial argument to support your opinion.
Honestly, Notre Dame will never regain the prominence they once did. Since the NCAA, limited the number of scholarships per teams, college football has become more competitive in general. A school in today's atmosphere can't contend for a national championship with the type of schedule and high academic standards it has.
Kids have evolved too. They just don't care about faux prestige. They are focused on getting to the NFL where the real money is. So they aren't going to attend a school that is essentially going to distract them by making them go to class and maintaining competitive grades. Also, South Bend has nothing to offer and the weather stinks. If I'm a blue chip athlete, why would I go to Notre Dame when I can go to USC or Florida and play in great weather and have the school pull strings for me so that I can have the most cush life possible. I'm not speaking from an ethical or moral sense but let's get real. These kids are businessmen and are thinking about the bottom line; they are not concerned with the tradition that Notre Dame offers, which is essentially the only thing they an offer
The only way Notre Dame contends is if they lower the academic standards and schedule a few more cupcakes. Otherwise, they are done.
You also have to remember that this 15 year layoff for Notre Dame is only going to hurt it's future recruiting potential because todays kids didn't grow up worshipping Notre Dame like past generations. Another 10-15 year skid could cause permanent damage to it's rep because tomorrow's fathers will not tell their kids to go to Notre Dame and instead remark what a joke they are.
