Pick up the blitz???

TP oftentimes couldn't even recognize who was blitzing.

And even when he guessed right, he was nothing but a human speed bump.

If you cant pick up the blitz or block at all you are relegated to gadget status.

Pollard is a hell of a weapon rotting on our bench. When the guy gets carries he looks amazing. Even the little dump off passes he made some plays.

You're absolutely blind when it comes to Pollard.

gotta love you one game victory riders.

Other then some laughable end around that lost 10 yards, Pollard didnt get a meaningful carry until 3 minutes left in the 2nd quarter.

But please go ahead and declare some kind of victory. Pollard is simply the more effective back when given the chance.

That being said, Zeke did well with what he was given. Moore was dumb to go away the running game.

Tony Pollard has some quick feet when the ball is in his hands but I'm not convinced he could block me on a blitz.

He's a role player. He's never been a feature back, not even in college. He's shown why every chance he's had.

He can’t handle a full load, he’d get broke or be less effective. Change of pace guy, terrible in pass protection

Pollard is in on 3rd and long and whiffs on protections. I thought Zeke was the blocking phenom and he's not there? Pollard got only maybe 3 carries? Why is Pollard on the punting special team making tackles?

The way we use Pollard just infuriates me.

Pollard had 6 carries for 8 yards and was a liability on passing downs, and 2 catches for 14 yards for a total of 8 touches. As for why he is on special teams, he is not some top end starter who you need to protect, he is the backup RB and it is common for your backup players to play ST.

On an obvious 3rd and passing situation it’s a misuse of Pollard to expect any blocking protection . What about Ferguson as an H back in motion to initiate a block then release on a screen . Anything but have 20 blocking in the backfield without help .

If he can't pass block, don't have him pass block.

Pollard is a 1st and 2nd down player. Supposed to be our motion RB/SlotWR. If he's on the field, he shouldn't be blocking on a pass play, he should be a run fake or go out into a route. That's what he was drafted to be.

This is not hard.

But it looked like they were putting him in his place early in the game, making him the guy who had to eat two awful plays.

Eh. Another player wasted by the Cowboys. At least he may get out of here before they destroy him like Felix.

Yes, they think of him as a backup RB instead of a starting RB/SlotWR, which is what they drafted him to be and what he should be.

Their mistake.

Pollard had 6 carries for 8 yards. At one point it was 4 for -2 but hey, by all means let’s use him more!

Pollard was on the receiving end of two horrible gimmick plays. One was way deep in the backfield and probably lost 8 yards. The other one was a loss too, but maybe just a couple of yards.

For the full 2021, he was 5.5 ypc. Give him the ball.

This was a real head scratcher for me. Zeke was getting yards at will, is a dominate north south rusher, why the hell would you use a shifty east west runner in a 4th and 2 when everyone in the stadium knows you’re going to run it. I was surprised there wasn’t more people complaining about this in the game thread.

To many on the anti-Zeke bandwagon. I been telling people Zeke makes this offense go. Only thing Pollard does is stop it. Pollard is directly responsible for multiple sacks and hits on the QB. Zeke had a 5.7 ypc yet we didn't keep running the ball. made no sense. Everyone could see that Dak was gunshy the whole game. If they had any sense they would call the rest of the season like they did Zeke's rookie year.

.....but KMoore calls dumb plays every week. It's like he is sabotaging this team, specifically Zeke. And firing MM will be JJ solution, compounded by awarding KMoore the HC position.

But he clearly is not a starting RB. He cannot pass block and his running was not particularly great either last night. He has always been very feast or famine and you typically do not want that out of your starting RB. He is okay out of the slot but not exactly fantastic. Basically he is something that every team has: a good but niche player who shines when used properly but cannot carry the full-time workload.
