So the Fan had a segment this morning that highlighted the Vegas take on the offseason so far. They have the Pats at 4-1. Then three teams at 10-1. The Packers, Seahawks and your Dallas Cowboys. Seems like they haven't gotten the message that Dallas sucks for losing guys that sucked before last season.

FYI, the Giants are at 18-1. And the Skins and Eagles are chiming in at 50-1.

And before you say its only because of Cowboys fans these are better odds than Dallas has had in either of the last two offseasons.

Just thought it was interesting.

I also don't think Vegas does a lot more than look at last year's records and run the racket based off of attracting the suckers. Usually the playoff teams from the previous year have the best odds, regardless of what they have done unless it is something drastic, like your QB retiring.

Regardless of the Vegas odds there will be high expectation on the Cowboys this season. Cowboys are expected to compete for a title this season, the core of the offense is still very much in tact and while there will be many changes on defense it was a area that needed to be addressed. I know Dallas has lost a lot on defense but then again how do you fix a defense without changing parts? Dallas had OL problems did they fix it by keeping the same parts? NO.

It is pretty rare a contending team blows up one side of the football by design the following offseason.

Dismantling pieces is different from total deconstruction.

Vegas couldn't care less who actually they believe will win, it's based solely on the betting trends to try and equalize where the bets are lining up. That's why you see the odds fluctuate like they do.

It is pretty rare a rookie QB along with a Rookie RB lead their team to a division championship. I do find it interesting is it because they let these players walk or that now people will not have some whipping boys to go off on every week? I'm sure Dallas will replace these guys the same guys many here constantly complained about as nothing more than JAGS or below avg.

They just took the years off that don't match up with your argument.

Cowboys fans can be more or less enthusiastic about the team every season. Following a 13-3 season, of course they are going to be more confident than they were last off-season.

Again: Still Cowboys fans.

If you think Vegas is setting odds just looking backwards at records and playoff teams....well...you'd be wrong....very wrong.

All three were quality starters at their position. There is a big gap between a quality starter and below average starter--even if we call them all JAGs. I'm giving the FO a chance, as they've been proving me wrong a lot lately. I hope I'm wrong here. But losing all 3 was a big loss; let's hope they can replace them and the pass rush.

That contradicts your previous post and entire point.

I don't think you ever understood my point. My point was that the Cowboys super bowl odds are always inflated. Especially so when the team is playing well. I've said nothing to contradict that. I've made the only point I intended do, so I'll move on. You take comfort in those odds if it suits you.

But they're higher this year than last year. Which you blamed on their previous record. Which contradicts your previous post. Because they're also higher than they were two seasons ago. You've argued simultaneously that their odds are only due to fans and are due to their previous record. But the teams recent history shows that to be inaccurate.

Vegas is acknowledging that Dallas has a pattern. They keep their core. Have an offense that protects their defense. Fills spots with young guys and retreads. And drafts well. Their core is talented enough to keep them competitive.

My other point is maybe people who's job is to be right might have a better track record than the nancies here who also have a pattern. Acting like free agency determines Super Bowls. Watching Dallas prove their doom and gloom to be displaced. And repeating the process each March.
