That's why we need to draft Jacoby "What was that thing that just flew right past me?" Ford. But then again, I'd be happy with Jordan Shipley as well. Hell, he might even be a better fit because he can play the slot.

Ford is pretty raw. And despite the fact he has elite track speed it doesn't all translate onto the football field. He's still very fast just not 4.2 fast with pads on. Spiller is at least as fast on the field.

I'd still be happy with drafting him although I'd really prefer a bigger WR even if they weren't quite as fast.

i agree with the general prinicipal of drafting bigger receivers but a really quick guy like gilyard who can get off the LOS quickly (like desean jackson)will help Romo greatly.

I have met Miles Austin in person and he just doesnt look 6'3". According to numbers listed above..he is same height of TO and 1" shorter than Keyshaw.....I just dont see it. He looks about 6'1 and half at best...but is very solid looking.

also Dallas has enough size in Miles and RW. They need exceptional quickness anywhere close to what Desean Jackson brings....he singlehandedly changed face of Eagles franchise with raw quickness and ability to change direction without drop-off of speed.

Doesn't exactly impress me. A guy with a career high of 40 catches, 706 yards, and 4 TD's? Not very impressive.

Were you impressed with Kevin Ogletree when he came out?

Has Ogletree done anything yet besides make the team?

That's not my question. Do you like Kevin Ogletree?

As much as making too big a deal how fast someone's 40 is stupid. The same goes for making too much of a deal over college production.

Sure. Carlton may be a good pickup in mid-late rounds but taking him early on is a bit risky. JMO

he's about a 3rd/4th round prospect at this point.

6'4 215 and some supposedly have said he can run a sub 4.4..mehh not to impressive.

Mediocre starting QB went down with injury.

Horrendous RS Freshmen running QB took over.

6-4/215 sub 4.4 WR is nothing to sneeze at.

Seems to be a good fit for what we tend to look for at WR.

Goes somewhere between bottom of 2 and 3.

Ramble on all the numbers you want, I'm looking for a someone that has on-field production, not a workout warrior.

I wouldn't mind taking a chance on him in the 3rd...maybe 4th round if he's there (which judging by the sounds of this board he wont be).

This is a better explanation of the lack of production. Good reasoning. Still wouldn't want him before the 3rd round.

BayBay Thomas broke his foot, but his agent is sending independently verified video of him running a 4.38 at 6'2" and 227lbs.

If he is still around at 91, which I doubt he will be, would you take him?

your the one rambling about his lack of production..those numbers would have been double if he had decent qb play.

You can play the if game all you want but I'll stick to reality.

In the meantime, here's an assignment. Run each of the five current receivers through the profile. Which skills does each possess? Which ones does each lack? How does each compensate for any shortcomings? Lastly, which would you classify as playmakers? How many fall short?
The number you come up with for that last question will tell you high high or how low receiver will land on the team's priority list.

* Miles Austin -- 6'3", 214 lbs.
Prototype size and speed player who lacked experience coming out of school. Alexander Wright type guy thus was an UFA. PLAYMAKER

* Patrick Crayton -- 6'0", 204 lbs.
Another small school guy with little WR experience. Experience as a QB made him smart about coverage and has exceptional hands. Hard-nosed player who responds to challenges. Lacks elite athleticism but is a hard worker who improves his game.

* Sam Hurd -- 6'2", 208 lbs.
Protoypical size and hands but lacks elite quickness or speed. Injuries have hampered development. Good special teams player and depth Wr but lacks ability to separate from CBs with routes or raw speed.

* Kevin Ogletree -- 6'0", 192 lbs.
Cowboys lone speed player. Possesses the ability to play at full speed all the time. Runs routes better than anticipated coming out of college. Smaller than Dallas likes and is probably the least quality blocker of the group. PLAYMAKER

* Roy Williams -- 6'3", 215 lbs.
Great size and decent top end speed. Lacks quickness. Hands have hurt him of late as he feels pressure to make plays after the catch. needs to work on his route-tree which is mostly fade stops, fades, out and slants at this point.
