I have no problem taking a shot at a playmaker and would in fact do so if one fell to me at a value but let's not go bananas here.
It took us 4 years to develop Austin. You can't just take an athlete and make him a WR. Miles had a special make up that allowed him to work like a man possessed for 3 years and he was still struggling until in year 4 everything clicked.
I'd have no problem just going the UFA route again if we are talking guys with less than 100 career receptions.
I do not think we are devoid of playmakers at all. Austin and Ogletree give us that dimension as does Felix.
