I'll give this a stab.

QB...Romo & Johnson (I think Moore is placed on the PS & either Crayton or Stanback are the emergency QBs we hope we never need.)

RB...Jones, Barber, & Thompson (Battle on the PS for now.)

FB...Anderson

WR...Owens, Glenn, Crayton, Hurd, Stanback, & Austin (Urban has to show me more in PS games for me to believe he'll win a spot. Same with Richardson)

TE...Witten & Fasano (they'll watch the waiver wire for a 3rd.)

OT...Adams, Columbo, Free, & Marten

OG...Davis, Kosier, Proctor, McQuistan

C...Gurode (Proctor doubles as backup C)

23 on Offense.

24th would be a 3rd TE. 25th could be for Hoyte at FB, though I don't see us keeping 2 FBs unless Battle is the 2nd.

DE...Spears, Canty, Hatcher, Bowen

NT...Ferguson, Ratliff

SOLB...Spencer, Ellis
ILB...James, Carpenter, Burnett, Ayodele
WOLB...Ware, Glymph

CB...Newman, Henry, Glenn, Thomas, Reeves, Ball
FS...Hamlin, Watkins, Brown (Brown also a 7th CB)
SS...Williams, Davis

25 on Defense.

K...Folk (Sorry all you Grammy fans. Folk's kicks have more hang time and go deeper and his FGs have been better.)
P...McBriar
LS..Ladoucer

3 on Special Teams.

Sorry, but I definitely think Hoyte is starting FB. Haven't heard much about what Anderson is doing but Battle has been having a good TC but I thought he was a RB not a FB.

Can't believe we'll keep 11 DBs but it will come down to whether we keep 3 TE, 2 FB or 11 DB. If someone we don't expect really shines in preseason games, then all bets might be off. Maybe a backup NT steps forward or a DB, etc.

Stanback hasn’t practiced yet but the scouting staff loves him and shin splints are not the type of injury to keep you on the injured reserve. (There’s no way they’ll sneak him through waivers so the options are to reserve him or wait.) He’ll probably get into the action very soon and will get a crack at the #5 spot, since he’s being groomed to return kicks.
Those who question this pick should commit this to memory.

We aren't keeping 3 QBs, IMO.

Stanback will be the punt returner, so keeping Urban because he is returning punts makes no sense, plus he's cut both our second KO return guys Austin and Elam.

Terrible roster prediction, IMO.

if stanback makes it - as he should - then we have an emergency qb anyway built in. to me that makes sense because by the time you get to your #3 qb, you're not going anywhere fun anyway.

I think Keith Davis gets cut somewhere down the line. He has shown very little as a safety since first joining the team in 2002. He is good at special teams, but that should not save him a back up safety spot.

It is possible and I considered that as well. The only thing that saves his roster spot is that he backs up Williams, and we might not have anyone else who could start there in case Roy gets injured. I guess the staff could slide Hamlin into the SS spot and move Watkins in at FS in an emergency situation. As for Davis, I think he will make a solid backup SS if he plays the same role as Williams will this year.

No way we keep only a single FB. Garrett said the FB will make his return to be a major part of the offense. A single fullback would debilitate our offensive game plan if he went down.

I don't see this either. The only way Folk makes the team is if we keep two kickers. With all the problems we've had with kickers, there is no way we are going to an unproven kicker while we have Gramatica.

Folk is only a 63% kicker for his collegiate career. His best season was last year and he only kicked at a 75% level.

I just don't see it happening unless he kicks at a very high level during the preseason and Gramatica doesn't. If they both kick at a high level, we take two kickers.

And Grammy hasn't broken 80% since 2002.

Folks act like Martin is some sort of savior - he's not - he's just a mediocre kicker. I'd rather have a guy who can develop rather than a guy who is just going to lose more and more leg strength as he gets older.

You don't draft a young guy and expect miracles from day 1. Seattle took Josh Brown and lived with a mediocre rookie year -- now they've got a very good kicker on their hands.
