Vernon Gholston

NFL personnel arrived at the Ohio State Pro Day excited about how DE Vernon Gholston would work out. He no doubt looks the part: very muscular and defined. Gholston impressed many when he ran his 40 on field turf instead of Ohio State's notoriously fast track, timing a 4.63 and a 4.65 (notice, it's not a 4.5). Then jumped a 37-38 inch vertical; anyone who reports he jumped 42 inches has bad sources as the testing unit was slightly broken during his jump. Once on the field, though, Gholston was not nearly as impressive. He is so muscle-bound and big that he struggled to bend knees and sink hips, which hindered his ability to change directions in drills.

Hes a beast. i have runors that the raiders are taking a hard look at the guy, since sapp retired from the raiders.
What would Sapp have to do with it? They don't play the same position.

He'd be better than Texans Mario Williams, imo. And if you take the letters l-o-n out of his last name you end up with Ghost. And nobody can block a ghost. Scary.

Never thought I'd hear that.

But anyways, Mario Williams has turned out to be the right choice for the Texans. The guy is very very good.

59 tackles. 14 sacks. 2 FF.

Thats a very, very productive season if I must say!
