Call it perception vs. reality, or whatever you want to say about the past.

But all I know is this. To hear Jerry come out and forcefully, and unmistakably acknowledge Jason Garrett as having final say over coaches and players gives me a fresh enthusiasm for my team. It also gives me a new respect for Jerry Jones.

Thank you Jerry.

It's never been any different. I think Jerry just finally got tired of reading the media make a circus out of it.

shhhhh dont tell him the truth, its going to kill the fantasy he's having. much like fans that excited over a bad draft pick.

lol, I got both ends of the spectrum out of the way with the first two responses :)

It may have been this way all along.....

It may just be words.....

I think it is different.... and I think he means it.

And I'm glad.

i hate to say it, but i understand what you mean in the first post., guess i might be there for the landing.

If Jerry actually felt the Coach was in charge I think he would have given the floor to the coach rather than make the PC about Jerry.

I was cautiously optimistic with Garrett but left the PC disgusted and resigned to another decade of mediocrity with Jerry. Sad, there are quality players on this team and I think Garrett is a quality person.

I think Jerry will continue to meddle just as he showed during Garrett's PC, making it Jerry's PC. Jerry was introducing the new HC, let him talk, let him be in charge, let him make the big boy statements. Jerry could not allow this and I think the future team success will reflect Jerry's lack of leadership understanding. If you are going to make a guy the leader, LET HIM LEAD !!!

Its easy to say something.. its not anything Jerry hasn't said before though.

Its a step in the right direction, but i'll wait and see how many different locations we hold our training camp at this summer. That should be a good indication of who's really running the show.

Do you guys feel the media sometimes pushes the issue?
i mean in a press conference introducing a new HC where JJ comes outs and strongly confirms that JC has final words on who is in who is out, yet the media insists on asking the questions "are you changing approach?"
"are you giving up control?" and those kind of questions..as if they are asking him "You admit you were wrong"...
Staying that to an ego-maniac guy like JJ will definitely push him to twists words and along the way say stupid things ...

That really irritates me.....the media should grow up..OK we all know by now he was a control freak...glory hunter..attention seeker...and he is giving up some of that, or all..don't keep beating on the guy

This is very true, Jerry should have addressed that issue directly a long time ago... it really is true, if the media's the only one talking, folks are gonna believe what they're told-- even if the media is completely full of crap...

Hey..just wanted to mention, I have a bridge for sale. :D

At least Jerry said it, even if he doesnt mean it. That in itself is a step in the right direction because I didnt hear Jerry say anything like this when Parcells and when Wade was hired.

In all likelyhood, Jerry and Garrett are going to discuss any decisions that have to be made and they will come to a mutual agreement. Sometimes Garrett may get his way and sometimes Jerry might get his, but the two of them will always show a united front.

Garrett is nobody's puppet, so this is not like Campo or Wade just saying "whatever you say Jerry, I am good wtih it".

We have at least upgraded to somebody that will actually question Jerry, that is again a step in the right direction.

I think the key here is that Garrett asked for it in the contract. I believe he did because of his response to that direct question.

He pretty much ignored the question.

And I do think Jerry wanted to get rid of that perception so he agreed for that reason and also because he trust Garrett.
