Anderson is a good player. I've watched him for 4 years at Bama, (he was a Franchoine recruit out of Oklahoma) and he's improved every year.

Undersized a little, but he's continuing to grow and is very solid in every phase. He can run defend, very good at rushing the passer, etc.

Also a very hard worker. He will be a good mid round pick for someone.

read on another forum and until I get his permission to post the article I won't

but according to the article Dallas is interested in trading up for AJ Hawk

and playing him inside...

I am not sure what to make of it as it would mean that james or Ayodel would have to move outside?

I would love to get Hawk, but been thinking the Cowboys don't move that direction usually. Please make a trade and get him!

I'm no draft expert but I can't see the Cowboys moving up more that 5 or so spots to get a guy like this. Anything else would cost too much. I like Hawk a lot though. It's an intriguing idea. If things fell right on draft day, it could happen. I don't think it's likely though.

I'm more incline to trade down...and get more picks than to trade up and give up something. Fraft picks are like Monopoly money...

Were not moving now in FA because we are in jail...So we can't roll the dice and land on someone elses hotel.

We'd have to move into the top ten from #18. Would cost way too much.

Normally I would like to trade down also, but if you get the chance to get a guy like A.J. Hawk that can be a real difference maker then I say get him. I feel there are few worth moving for, but Hawk may be one of that kind of player.

In that case I think our LB corp would be more like...

Ware - Hawk - Ayodele - Burnett

This is SICK!!!!!:p:

you forgot Bradie James

I dont think we're going to see much from Burnett next yr...his ACL was very late in the season

Hawk is a great college player a cross between ANDY KATZENMOYER and BRIAN BOSWORTH... if teams allow the COWBOYS to trade up to get him from 18 chances r he would have fell in the draft, anyway!!!

anyway... thats just too many spots to fall if u own a pick that could get HAWK! teams will want a pick before 18 and if they couldnt broker a deal for him before 18 should tell DALLAS to hold tight they might get him!!!

Hawk will probably be a top 10 player in the draft. Thats a pretty big jump.

However, I have a hard time believing that the Cowboys would be showing their hand this early on. Seriously, there isnt even a lot of FA speculation for whom the Cowboys are looking at.

thats silly, Ayodele is pure ILB, he won't be a great OLB.
Hawk would be a great OLB but I think Lawson is a slightly better athlete and might be an even better passrusher than Hawk, and at a much cheaper price.

Name a team that isnt high on Hawk? He's a great player, I just think we can get something very comparable for a MUCH better price.

Blowing a wad of picks to move up in the top 6 to get a linebacker? There's a strategy very few teams have taken historically. For a reason.

You give up a bunch of picks to trade up to get a QB. And even then you had better do your homework.

If he slides out of the top 10, highly doubtful, then its time to think about making a move for him. Until then the only player I'd think about moving into the back half of the top 10 for, if he slides, is Ferguson.

Well, let's suppose that BP and JJ are going for broke, which is certainly possible. Their is only one player in the draft that can take us to the next level this year. That man is AJ Hawk. Now obviously it's a gamble because it would mean morgaging the future slightly.

Be honest, tell me what would improve our chances of winning a superbowl more than moving up to get AJ Hawk? There is no combination of players that you could pick up that would give us a better chance of winning it all this year, imo.

Exactly. Linebackers, safeties and TE's should not be traded up for. Trade ups are for players who can change the game, QB,RB,WR,DT,DE,CB with touchdowns or turnovers leading to touchdowns. TE is a complimentary receiver, linebackers and safeties play too far away from the line scrimmage and don't cover star wide receivers very well, for example, Roy Williams vs Santana Moss. Case closed.
