I know a lot of people here feel love for Cooper Rush, but for me...meh!! Just a guy for now, someone I absolutely don't want to turn the season over to in the event of a long term injury to Dak. Eliminating the Brees and Cousins of the world. There are many vet QB choices out there, although many that make you throw up in your mouth. But in choosing from the names floating out there for now what are your thoughts?? Do we need a vet QB and what name...

Bradford stands out for me, as a backup and if $$ is right. Siemian may be free soon, maybe??
Some others McKnown or McCarron, not totally sold....

what stands out is the obvious dearth of talent....

Bradford would start for this team right now, don't see how he would be a backup to Dak.

Bradford is over-rated and can't stay healthy.

Im all for having a vet back-up for insurance....Blaine Gabbert.

You could have Drew Brees as your backup QB and we would have the same outcome we've had for 1/4 of a century. A losing team!! Remember, we had Tomo, a top 5 QB. Where'd that get us???

I don't know that he would start rags. I do agree that from a stand point of experience, he would easily be that guy but, we don't always make decisions based on that. Dak could still be the starter regardless. We've seen that before.

I do agree with what I think your premise is thou. You think Bradford might get a starting gig somewhere. That very well could be.

Keeping my fingers crossed for a healthy more productive Dak Prescott. I don't want to tie up dollars on a guy I hope will not have to play.

I would take McCarron up to his grievance he filed, tells me he has an attitude problem or possibly could have. But with his attitude I think he wants to be able to compete to be a starter. If not he may whine about it if he loses out.

he filed a grievance after the trade debacle last year. It was the Browns fault they did not call the NFL office in time, not the Bengals. But yet he filed it against the Bengals to become a FA. So they are releasing him because of it, or maybe he won it, not sure.

Dak isn't fragile like Wentz and no Bradford wouldn't start over Dak cause Dak is better.

Not sure how you folks don't understand it's the coaching and scheme that needs to change

Why would you think people don't understand?

Maybe it's just that people don't believe those things will change, at least this season.

Believing it won't change then blaming certain players doesn't make a ton of sense. If they think coaching won't change.... Therefore not mentioning them as cause for our failure then they can't blame Dak cause he isn't going anywhere this season either.

So, I think you're wrong on that statement

I guess I missed the "Blaming" part. Where do you see that?

McCown is the best semi realistic option we could have.

If you want to go cheaper, there’s always Sanchez.

Actually the grievance is for 2014 when he passed his post draft physical yet the Bengals put him on the NFI list. He lost an accredited season towards free agency because of it. Arbitrator agreed and now hes a FA.

Hey if Dak gets hurt
Let rush finish the season find out what you got and if you got nothing then you draft a QB
at the top since you'll be up up there anyway..

And the following year let the competition begin.
No need overpaying some scrub we aren't going to the big dance next year anyway

Maybe you should read what folks say about Dak then we can continue this conversation

We can talk right now. I see nothing like that in this thread. I see a lot of what is posted in this forum. It goes both ways.

Well, (and let me say that there is some sense to this approach) if you go that route and we suffer another implosion you are kinda screwed. You are then into Zeke and Dak's 4th season, coming up on contracts and you start having to plan on what you are going to do then. You also have the potential for coaching changes or, starting all over. I don't believe that Garrett is in trouble right now but I do believe that if we have another failed season, because of poor preparation, he could very well be gone, along with all the rest. I don't see them wanting to put themselves in that situation.

I don't blame Dak, I just believe that Bradford is a better QB...if healthy.

Dak isn't fragile and I'm good with Rush as the backup. Wouldn't mind seeing them draft someone mid to late if someone interesting is available. But I want them to look for smart, accurate guys with a good arm rather than someone with all the tools that is dumb as a box of rocks. Like a Weedon.

True
But I believe the offense they're designing for deck will be a good fit for Cooper so he will have some reps and be able to slip right in.
As far as contracts go Zeke's going to have to have a good year and if Dax out with a significant injury he's not going to have any grounds for demanding a big contract either.

Schemes and play calling are what's going to to decide if the big three coaches keep their jobs or not.
