Reading this thread makes me sick. There are 4 very clear remarks in this thread that I consider RACIST. The scary thing is most probably do not even know they are.

And let me be very clear, I am sickened by what Vick has been accused of, and in my opinion probably did, so this is not about supporting him, cause I dont.

of course he's living in fantasy-land. he has 130 million reasons for that, with prior pampering from probably middle-school.
I think that's what it is just as much as simple lack of intelligence. Vick's probably been getting away with things since he was 12 years old. It's amazing what some adults will do to shelter, pamper, and cover up for kids with tremendous athletic ability. It's almost understandable -- not acceptable, but understandable -- that these guys think they're outside the rules of the rest of society when they've been treated like superiors their whole lives.

So, you're saying that it's ok for these thugs to do whatever they want, simply because they've been nurtured that way?

Wow....just wow.

I was trying to see if glossing over your post and responding with illiterate-reactionary-bull**** was any fun. Lots of people do it. I've got to say - it wasn't bad. I could take it or leave it.

Amazing, isn't it?

Was Hitler blond? Seriously, I don't know. Everything I can remember seeing him in was filmed in black-and-white.

This article says Vick resisted taking a leave of absence. I thought that based on yesterdays press conference with Banks and McKay, a leave of absence was not an option. It is possible that Vick or Vick's attorney did not want to volunteer to take a leave of absence because it may be seen as an admittance of guilt. I don't think that, but I could see where a defense attorney may have that opinion.

Vick may indeed not think this is a big deal, but it isn't his words in the article. It is that of some source.

one word describes Vick.....Idiot

I will thank you to not insult my townspeople. Even idiots like us in FB know not to get involved in dog fighting.
There must be a better adjective for Vick.

These guys just don't realize that America loves to watch celebrities fall, just as much as watching them rise. Maybe more so.

Its absolutely true about how athletes are protected and pampered. From Jr High all the way to the pros people took care of them, protected them, looked the other way, etc. They have been CONDITIONED to expect special treatment and to believe that they can pretty much do anything and get away with it. Now clearly Vick is a thug and an idiot- but he had a lot of help along the way to arrive there.

I think Vick sees it as no big deal because he still doesn't see anything wrong with dog fighting. Sure he knows it's illegal but I think he just doesn't see anything wrong with it and sees himself as a hero for providing entertainment for others of like mind.

I believe Vick and his associates see themselves as tough, merciless gangstas who value meanness and see society at large as a bunch of wimps to be taken advantage of. They respect cruelty and viciousness while disrespecting the rest of us. It's the prison value set versus the civilized value set.

What can you expect from criminals?

Some learn in high school.
Some learn in college.
Some learn in the military.
Some learn in prison.
Some never learn at all.

Vick is a waste of a lot of things.

Vick might not care NOW, however, if he gets convicted watch and see how contrite and apologetic he will become! We will probably see him cry on TV...just like a child that has finally got his hand caught in the cookie jar.

I can agree with this, to a point. However, it's still the responsability of each and every person to do right, rather then wrong. Vick is old enough to distinguish this for himself. The fact that he has been given that sort of treatment is not an excuse for him to expect it when he's crossed a the legal line. You have to be able to understand these barriers. In the end, Society will hold you responsible for your own actions. Vick has ingnored this fact of life, IMO.

Very true, ABQ. Everyday people cross the line a little sometimes, like speeding a little, or having maybe just a little few drinks before driving, maybe even going out and buying a little weed for the house...that kind of thing. But, when you know something is a feloney, for sure, if you are caught, why risk that? It is nothing but total sutpidity, period!

Vick knows right from wrong! I know he does because I would bet all the money I have that he would not stick his hand on a bright red piece of hot iron...maybe?

Guys like that try and tempt fate, and fate usually comes back to bite you on the butt!

mr. doggie abuse hasn't even publically commented, nevermind apologized about the accusations & charges.

Why would he apologize if he didn't do anything wrong?
That's as good as an admission.

Granted, I believe he is involved, but if he's maintaining his innocence, why would he apologize.

And let's be real here. If Vick were to confess that he was indeed involved, he'd be out the league. PERIOD.

He has to ride this one through.

What he should have done is if he really wasn't involved, he should have said, "I bought that residence for my relatives. But rest assure, I will cooperate with authorities to get to the bottom of this and to clear my name."

His silence either says ...

He's involved and he's going to keep silent or he's too attached to his Boyz to rat them out.

Either way, his career is over.

Pretty much, I would say...pretty much.
