You may take Vickerson, but it may not mean that the Cowboys will.

No, but it means I think they should.

Again, unlike Rod Marinelli, who impresses me less by the day, I would like a big guy in the middle that teams are forced to run around rather than these 'rushmen' who don't stop the run and don't get to the quarterback either.

He might have lingering issues from the injury.

He is big at 6-5, 328. They would have to guarantee his salary if he's on the team for game 1.

I can't determine if Hayden is a vested-veteran or not (i.e. will his salary be guaranteed?).

He may be too big for Marinelli-Kiffin. They prefer short squatty guys inside. Either Jimmy or Pete Carroll would snap him up over Hayden in a NY minute. Hayden is nothing special, he is just familiar w/scheme and a try hard guy. At best he is a depth guy, certainly not a starter.

Yes, Marinelli seems to want to stay away from anybody over 310 pounds; although, he won't have a choice if Jerry ever gets his boy Josh Brent back.

There are 350 pound DTs that move better than Nick Hayden. I just don't get keeping him.

It will all be clear when we're giving up 150 rushing yards per game...

Vickerson is all kinds of nasty, I'd take him in a heartbeat

Could not agree more. Vickerson is not just huge and a proven run stopping beast, but he is just plain mean and would bring an attitude and vet leadership this D sorely lacks. Even if just for a year or two. Vickerson is light years better than Hayden.

I'd love to see them get Vickerson. He plays mean and is an above average run stopper. Does anyone know what spot in the waiver wire order the Cowboys are?

You all do realize that we need SOMETHING to slow down rushing attacks. I would honestly take a large beanbag over hayden at this point.

I live in Colorado, Vickerson would be well suited here.

I'm out of the market for rolodex calls to failed training camp and senior players.

Out of all the guys that have been released I think Vickerson is arguably the best fit. He could slide right in as a #1 tech DT and that would cause the release of someone else. :D

Vickerson would make a lot of sense, but as someone previously stated, I'm not sure he is the type of DL that Rod is looking for.

Vickerson, Sam, Fred Evans, John Connor. There seems to be some players out there who could help us--none of whom the team appears to have any interest in.

I wonder if any could be a post week 1 signing...

Vickerson is a vested-veteran. He is not subject to waivers. He's a free agent immediately after being cut.

Does that mean he gets to choose who he plays for (Of those teams interested in him) as opposed to having to go to the team with the best waiver claim?
