So is Butler a new diamond in the rough? A pass rush specialist or the benefactor of so much emphasis on blocking Ware and Ratliff?

He straight up blew past Jeff Otah... that was all Vic on those sacks.

And Otah ain't no chump.

This is HUGE for us... We needed another guy to fill Ellis's shoes, and it looks like we found it. He needs more PT

I think after tonight, he'll see time in the nickel for sure.

He's def going to get some of Spencer's minutes.

This guy just makes me feel better about Spencer...Hey if He cant get it done then maybe Butler can be our ware on the other side...I know i'm overblowing it but so what!!

You know what I would love to see on 3rd and longs?

A line of Butler - Hatcher - Ware - Spencer.

Now THAT would bring some heat.

Spencer has thus far been a run stuffer and capable in flats coverage, not a very menacing pass rusher to this point however but not a wasted pick.

Bowen Ratliff Hatcher on the line, with Ware - Butler coming from OLB and Spencer (playing Barbie's spot in the Nickel) coming up the middle.

Or for a more basic look. Ware - Spencer - Ratliff - Butler.

I'll have some of that Victer Butler Kool-aid too. Very impressed with his 2 sacks. What is up with Spencer? Guy is totally invisible.

this

and def the part in bold

Kick the 3-4 to the curb and move to a 4-3.

7 years and it's not working on a consistent basis.

Wade is way over rated and won't be here next year anyway.

Call him what ever you like but if he can get off the edge quickly as he did lastnight Wade will find some playing time for him.

He has been in the pass rush and that is a concern but he was not invisible last night as he made a couple of nice plays including a play in coverage.

Just because Spencer hasn't had sack yet doesn't mean he is not preasuring the QB. He's the one that caused the Jenkins pick and has created lots of pressure in all three games. He's also been the victim of a lot of holding that hasn't been called. There has been about 3 or 4 times this season where he's beat his man and they have grapped onto his jersey as he's closing in for a sack.

Who says he is just a pass rushing specialist?

I wanna see more Victor Butler.

I bet we see him more this week because of Denvers altitude.

Don't always expect him to come in and become a sack master like he did last night. Nobody knew what to expect with him. Look at him in this game as a change a pace pass rusher. He is faster to the outside and he clearly caught the Panthers be surprise at how quickly he could get around the corner.

He was exactly what the Cowboys needed him to be though. Great job Butler!

Whether it was all Butler or a direct result of the attention they pay to others isn't really important. What's important is that he showed he's capable of making those plays and that's what we need on the other side of Ware. We need someone who is going to beat people 1 on 1 so that they can't just put 2 or 3 people over there chipping on Ware to stop him. Another guy, coming from the other side, who makes them think about the rush from there will only help out or Defense.
