Victoria Secret In Cowboys Stadium

The reason you don't have an issue with it is because you don't see the big picture. Winning consistently is an organizational effort, every decision maker has to make decisions based on the bottom line and that is Ws and Ls. What does getting boxing matches, women's bowling, college football, high school football, concerts, PaPa Johns commercials, guest appearances on Entourage, New Era commercial and Victoria Secret shops in Cowboys Stadium have to do with winning? When JJ is securing these events what is our gm doing? If the GM is focusing on football related items then I have no problem but we all know that he's not. Pacells warned Romo about being a celebrity qb but what about the celebrity owner.

I am sure Jerry wasn't out with the people of Vicky's Secret working out the deal, his stadium people were doing all the grunt work.

I think the problem with many of you is that you believe that Jerry should do nothing but think eat and drink football 365 a year. That is unhealthy for anyone.

Jerry is the face of the team.

That makes me throw up in my mouth a little but everything he does is publicized ad nauseum.

I think it's a silly thing but that's just me.

One question I do have though, is why when Jerry says something or goes to the sidelines, he is interfering.

Jeff Lurie says, Reid is gone if only 8-8, media doesn't complain.

Arthur Blank goes to sidelines all the time, nary a peep.

Why does Jerry get crapped on so much?

He brings it own himself, the people you named are owners only not gm/owners. He wants the limelight, he wants to be the superstar owner so it comes with the territory. I don't recall Lurie or Blank making guest appearances on tv shows or having PaPa John and New Era tv commercials. Now I hear that he'll be appearing on The League this season, jeez. Name me another Gm that has time for all this? That's what I thought.

Because Jerry has made himself the face of the team. He wants the attention & is given it. Good & bad.

Jerry loves the attention!

I really think this is a very good idea. Anything that promotes women dressing in sexy lingerie is going to get my vote every time. C'mon people, let's not lose focus on what's important here. I mean, next you're going to tell me that Sports Illustrated's swimsuit edition is a bad idea because it takes away from the essence of the magazine. And that would be crazy talk.

If it was up to Jerry he'd put stripper poles in Cowboys Stadium.:banghead:

If we were in the playoffs every year, .. winning a Super Bowl now and then, ... things like this would be bad enough, but tolerable.

Now, losing like we have for so long, it is flat out embarassing. And I'm sure hilarious to fans of other teams.

Dallas in not known for winning any longer, .. Dallas is known for this kind of foolishness.

And as long as the money rolls in, and the TV appearances keep coming, Jerry is fine with that.

How is having lingerie models at the game embarrassing? Were the cheerleaders embarassing (well for anyone other than the prude Tom Landry?)

The problem many have is that they think the sport is the only thing. Unfortunately, we crossed the line from sport to business of sport years ago. Now it is all about how much $$$ you can bring in. Wins on the field are secondary now.

Look at what jerry's done to this fan base. You defend him while saying that wins are secondary. Well fans on this board are real fans and we still count Ws as first, second, third, and fourth priority.

I'm glad you influence the game so much. I can sleep better at night now.

The sport world is no longer just about wins and losses. The owners might pay lip service to it but most would rather make 20 million and miss the playoffs than lose 20 million and get in.

Whether for me as a fan, wins are primary is meaningless given I don't own the team and look at bottom line.

I do laugh though when those are here claiming wins are all that matters, seems not to be the case when we pull one out. If we play well but lose, we suck because we can't close. If we win but play badly, we were lucky and will get killed against real teams.

Heads I win, tails you lose.

you also have NO influence on what happens in the games either.

This is not the first stretch Dallas has incurred between Superbowls. Teams go through stretches, they shuffle GM's Coaches players etc before it all comes together and things work out. Fans really have no control over this if they quit showing up owners have less money tighten the strings.

Dallas has had chances the last 8 years they failed to capitalize the times they made the playoffs. Them the breaks now we just have to hope this team gets it together this year and really turn it on down the stretch and gets the job done.
