Babe made a mistake. Owens is the "face of the franchise", not Romo. When he's not there getting shut down by the corner opposite of him next season, Romo will not have to hold the ball forever when he makes his reads.

Name one quarterback in the league that regressed with TO as the star WR... Jeff Garcia... uh, nope... McNabb... uh, nope... Hell, look at Westbrook's number... they jumped up as soon as Ownes came on board in Philly... Westbrook's rise in the offense times with Owens coming to the Eagles...

the INT/fumbling issue would be old if it wasn't a problem the last 4 games of the season: 6INTs 3 Fumbles lost (to 5TDs)

Look at Tiki Barber...the guy was infamous for fumbling at key moments. So he fixed it and all people talked about after that was how he improved himself and how he didn't fumble the ball. It was something you couldn't knock about Barber's game.

Romo has to improve himself first. He can (and should) lead by example that way there isn't this post-season talk or doubt.

Romo bashers, as a group, are, collectively, high-functioning apes. Maybe not all that high-functioning. There are no exceptions to this rule.

Give me an elite QB capable of leading the lead in passer rating at any given point in the season, one who absolutely transforms the offense he's in when he comes into a game, with a resilient attitude and the kind of grounding and short term memory you need to play QB fearlessly in this league. And I'll give you a whiney fanbase that doesn't appreciate what they've got because they read too much into a season-ending press conference.

You all know who you are.

Brett Farve may be available.

Maybe he can step in with that feerless short term memory and resiliency and through 6 picks in the playoffs.

It definitely shows where the "just as good as punt" mentatlity was learned.

But hey, even Farve won one SB with that style of play, but lost a whole slew of other playoff games almost singlehandidly (Rams, AtL, etc.)

Yeah. Tough to win with a guy like Favre on your team. I was frankly shocked Green Bay stuck with him as long as they did.

Why beat himself up when he knows he has all the critics willing to do that. Because Tony does not break down or cries to the TV does not mean he is happy with how things have gone. It is pretty obvious at the post game interview when he has had a bad game. Tony has not looked for excuses and I think he know he has to help get this team over the hurdle. In the end no matter what Tony says will make a difference he will be judged by what happens on the field

I didn't say it was a bad thing.

I'm just saying he always reacts the same way. It's his personality ... how he deals with the criticism.

He was entertaining to watch, you always knew he was going to do something stupid and amazing - just depended on at what point int he game which one occured. It seems that the games that the stupid plays outnumbered the amazing ones, most were losses.

Romo may win a SB, but as consistent and prepared as Brady or P Manning, he is not.

not a bash - he is the best since Aikman.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he never was fully recovered from that back injury and combine that with the thumb, there were some hinderences in his QB mechanics.

Sure, I am making excuses, but I'll make excuses all day for a guy that is, in my opinion, our QB of the present and the future.

I'd like to hear (or read) what you could say positively about Tony Romo.

Physically, I think Romo has what it takes to be that elite QB that can lead this team to a SB win. There's just something about his decision making and attitude that I think hold back his full potential . He's SO SO close...that's what makes his screwups so unbearable.

Until Romo actually stops fumbling and throwing careless ints then they are most certainly not "old". They are a major concern, and the number 1 thing Romo must improve going forward.
