Now, laufenberg is in tight with the garrett's. And I heard aikman say this morning to the musers that reeves left because he didnt want to be full time and didnt want to miss his time with his grandkids.

Now laufenberg says some pretty powerful things also.

so that leads me to believe, he was really going to take the playbook right out of garretts hand.

What a mess.

after clicking play you can then click the arrow on the right and watch in high quality here, or go to my page and watch it in HD.

So, I guess now we know -- Reeves didn't want a full-time commitment in his contract.

Hard to blame Jerry for that one.

Why do you think Reeves denies that being the case? That answer doesn’t sound right to me. I think it is trying to stop speculation.

So Babe knows exactly what the problem was?

How does he think he knows that?

And if that's really what it was, that's crazy. Reeves said about 100 times today that he considered it a full time job and he'd be totally dedicated to it. What, is Jerry afraid he'll steal his money and just hang out in Georgia? A guy who worked several days without even a contract?

And why is Babe so sure it wouldn't it have worked?

I'm not sure it's such a good thing having him be so tight with Garrett. Personally, I wish there weren't a single player or coach around here from the Glory Days.

Sound like Reeves wanted it to be full-time, was committed to it being full-time, but didn't want it to be in the contract. Jerry just wouldn't take his word for it.

I am just guessing he is insisting it wouldnt work because of what he said, there would be too many people in romo's head. Which means reeves would be someone in the offensive meetings getting on romo and undermining garrett.

Unless I am reading him wrong.

Why did Reeves not want it in his contract that he was to be a full-time employee???

The employment contract I signed before I started working on my last job stated the minimum number of hours per week required for my position.

If Jerry wanted it in writing and Reeves balked, I have to ask why?.........Why would Reeves not want it in writing how many hours he has to work during the week for example???

Isnt is pretty standard for an employement contract to state how long you have to work during a day or a week???.........Otherwise, people would just show up after lunch or something.

I cant say I blame Jerry here, when it comes to contract law you can never be too careful.

With Laughing-Boy standing on a set fraught with silver and blue, would the broadcast really be anti-Jerry?

Doubtful. It can just as easily be spin.

Let's see if Spags doesn't trot out the same line.

And that is why you have a 9-5 job and not a "consultant" position with americas team.

Please dont start trying to act like being Dan Reeves and taking a consultant position with the Cowboys in any way should resemble what you are doing for your paycheck.

I have more respect for the guy who picks up my trash then I do for anyone involved in pro sports.

A commitment is a commitment. Doesn't matter how much status you choose to give a particular position.

And that's different than you acting like you know what the poster does for a living? For all you know the might be a consultant. Take your bucket of practice rocks and set them on the back porch of your glass house.

I really really want to believe that Garrett will bring back some of that 07 swagger when we get healthy, but I don't think he knows how to coach to protect his players. When Romo was getting pounded, he would never move the pocket. For a Princeton graduate, having several Ravens players say you have the simplest offense in football isn't a ringing endorsement.

Which is why he was 0 for 6 this year trying to find a head coaching position.

I have a pretty good feeling the "Beast from the East" isnt a former dallas cowboys that took 2 different teams to the superbowl and is well respected enough in the NFL to walk away from Jerry and Co.

And for all you know i am a consultant.
What difference does that make?
I am not being offered a consultant job in the NFL with a resume like Reeves.
If i were then i would also be calling the shots.

Jerry needs Reeves more than Reeves needs Jerry.

So the man who just took the job on the back of a garbage truck with no qualifications needed other than the ability to lift 50 pounds deserves more respect than a man who worked his way to the top of his profession?
A man with a resume like Dan Reeves.

While i appreciate the commitment the garbage work gives. His resume isnt doesnt dictate he can call the shots like Reeves does.

If you really have no respect for anyone involved with professional sports then why do you watch it? How do you feel about actors in hollywood? Do you watch tv or movies?

Romo: 'Everyone is mad at everybody. Everyone thinks that nobody else did their job.'

Barry Horn E-mail News tips

That's was in the aftermath of Eagles 44, Cowboys 6.

Channel 11's Babe Laufenberg, who doubles as the Cowboys radio analyst, sits down with Tony Romo on Sunday night in what is being billed as Romo's first post-season TV interview. Here's a sampling of questions and answers that should appear on Laugfenberg's The Score:

Laufenberg: "The Cowboy fan, he was bleeding through his eyeballs (after the loss in Philadelphia)/. He thought he was going to the playoffs he was already getting Super Bbowl tickets. The Cowboy fan wanted you to be bleeding through your eyeballs and it almost seemed to be kind of a cavalier approach, in the press conference, to losing. You understand that perception?"
Romo: "Oh, no question. I'm the same way, When I sit there and watch and I see something I see something where I'm like 'he may not care as much' but its funny when you're in the situation, because for me, I'm the one who had to go home and think about it for the next 48 hours straight without sleeping much at all. And then I'm trying to make myself somehow feel better about it. I'm trying to sit there and tell myself everything is going to be OK even though inside you feel like maybe its not."

Laufenberg: "There was also a thought that you had thrown your offensive coordinator, Jason Garrett, under the bus after the game.
Romo: "In a game like that, there's so many emotions flying around. Everyone is mad at everybody. Everyone thinks that nobody else did their job. That's part of playing in a high level competition environment where a lot of people care. Everybody wants to, make sure that no one points their finger at themselves and that part of being a great athlete is knowing that you can do it, You always believe in yourself. I think that this team going forward needs to look at themselves - each one of us - and say we need to get better. What do we need to do individually to make this group better? I don't think there will be near as much finger pointing this year."

Laufenberg: "There is a perception that the Cowboys are a long way off - I don't know who was worse Detroit or Dallas....Palyed on the road, went to overtime with Arizona, led Pittsburgh by 10 with seven minutes to play. Does that tell you that this team is close?"
Romo : "If you stick together you are going to go through tough times. Our team went through tough times last year, but it didn't mean we couldn't have accomplish our goals. We just didn't keep that same ability to continue to go forward and grind it out - and that was disappointing."

Laufenberg: "And do you think that's a mindset? Is something amiss?"
Romo: "Yeah, I think different individuals have different mindsets sometimes. I'm not going to pretend that is was one guy here, or one guy there or something like that. We were all in it together, we all did it, so we are all to blame."

Babe echoed my sentiments. I was not excited about having a consultant. Either fire Wade and promote Red or fire the entire staff and start from scratch. I hope we keep everyone in tact because our demise has been greatly exaggerated. After the draft and free agency, it will be business as usual. This a good team, better then a large percentage of teams in the NFL, with a few lucky breaks our entire destiny would have been different. I don't know how anyone could come to a different conclusion after watching the NFL in the last 10 years or so.

My only caveat, if Wade and Co can't get it done this season then it will be time to implode the building and start from scratch.

On a side note, I would love to play poker with a lot you, it would be easy pickings. :)
