That's was in the aftermath of Eagles 44, Cowboys 6.
Channel 11's Babe Laufenberg, who doubles as the Cowboys radio analyst, sits down with Tony Romo on Sunday night in what is being billed as Romo's first post-season TV interview. Here's a sampling of questions and answers that should appear on Laugfenberg's The Score:
Laufenberg: "The Cowboy fan, he was bleeding through his eyeballs (after the loss in Philadelphia)/. He thought he was going to the playoffs he was already getting Super Bbowl tickets. The Cowboy fan wanted you to be bleeding through your eyeballs and it almost seemed to be kind of a cavalier approach, in the press conference, to losing. You understand that perception?"
Romo: "Oh, no question. I'm the same way, When I sit there and watch and I see something I see something where I'm like 'he may not care as much' but its funny when you're in the situation, because for me, I'm the one who had to go home and think about it for the next 48 hours straight without sleeping much at all. And then I'm trying to make myself somehow feel better about it. I'm trying to sit there and tell myself everything is going to be OK even though inside you feel like maybe its not."
Laufenberg: "There was also a thought that you had thrown your offensive coordinator, Jason Garrett, under the bus after the game.
Romo: "In a game like that, there's so many emotions flying around. Everyone is mad at everybody. Everyone thinks that nobody else did their job. That's part of playing in a high level competition environment where a lot of people care. Everybody wants to, make sure that no one points their finger at themselves and that part of being a great athlete is knowing that you can do it, You always believe in yourself. I think that this team going forward needs to look at themselves - each one of us - and say we need to get better. What do we need to do individually to make this group better? I don't think there will be near as much finger pointing this year."
Laufenberg: "There is a perception that the Cowboys are a long way off - I don't know who was worse Detroit or Dallas....Palyed on the road, went to overtime with Arizona, led Pittsburgh by 10 with seven minutes to play. Does that tell you that this team is close?"
Romo : "If you stick together you are going to go through tough times. Our team went through tough times last year, but it didn't mean we couldn't have accomplish our goals. We just didn't keep that same ability to continue to go forward and grind it out - and that was disappointing."
Laufenberg: "And do you think that's a mindset? Is something amiss?"
Romo: "Yeah, I think different individuals have different mindsets sometimes. I'm not going to pretend that is was one guy here, or one guy there or something like that. We were all in it together, we all did it, so we are all to blame."
