Dude. Wait until you see what the kicker does, lol.

Roger Staubach. The man is God as far as I am concerned.

I was a kid working my first adult job. I hauled furniture around at a furniture store. Cheap crap, and they paid me 2.00 an hour to unload trucks and load up customer's vehicles.

That game was on and not one customer came in.

When Staubach came in I bet one of the salesmen 5.00 Dallas would win the game. He gloated amongst the other sales people how he just fleeced the kid.

They won and he swore he never made the bet.

Even not getting paid, I was The Man around there for months because I was the only one that believed.

That was a great game.

I still remember Ron Sellers catching that ball and being absolutely exhilarant.

I will forever have Roger above all other Cowboys heroes. He just exuded something that made me love this game and team the way I do. He never gave up and he never gave in.

Still gives me goosebumps. My dad died when I was 7, so Roger, Tom and the others were the men I always looked up to.

"The Immaculate Reception" was the early game that day, followed by Roger's miracle. What a feast for football fans.

That something is displayed at the end of this video...

His teammates just loved him for his leadership and his grit.

We need Romo to become that guy at the end of this video.

What a great time to be a Cowboys fan.

I will NEVER forget those days.

My biggest childhood hero was always #12.

Thanks for that trip down memory lane. It was a lot of fun watching those teams of the 70's (and some of the 80's).

It was very obvious that Rogers teammates thought highly of him...... well at least one didn't...

I thought only a couple of us in the universe thought that. They're jinxed!!!1!

I never liked the navy. Those royal blues were the best, cursed or not. Wish we'd bring those back for a game.

Still boggles my mind that Landry took so long to decide between Morton (who despite some physical skills was simply not a winner..in fact, one could make the argument that he choked in all the big games) and Staubach who had the words "competitor" and "winner" written all over him.

:laugh2: I won't go quite that far, but I will admit that he was a bonafide, once-in-a-lifetime gift for the Cowboys franchise. There will never be another quarterback like Roger Staubach. Heck. There will never be another football player like Staubach. Ever.

Mr. Staubach, I salute you. :toast:

Side note: The company I work for does business with his real estate company and I may get to meet him soon. It would be great to shake hands with the legend that I grew up idolizing on the field.
