Actually Roger was not really ready to start until 71. He had a couple of years of rust to scrub off first. It took only half of 71 once he started to show that he was a top QB. Unfortunately he kept challenging LBs and got his shoulder mashed up the next pre season and Morton took over again and had a good season. Roger took over after he beat the 49rs in that great playoff game. Landry felt he had to wait until Roger matured enough to not take too many risks. I really doubt Roger could have started much sooner then he did.

Nice videos. The guy was a great QB and leader. I found it very insulting when announcers tried to thrust the label of Captain Comeback onto Jim Harbaugh during the mid 90s. There is only one Captain Comeback and that is Staubach.
