This is some telling commentary on the defense from Bradie James...

Whatever works is fine with me. But like I said in the video.

Isn't this the style of bland defense that some of these players complained about when Parcells was here?

And it's surely not what Wade's 34 defense is known for. His defense is supposed to use stunts and blitzes to create mismatches against the offensive scheme while confusing them so they don't know where the pressure is coming from.

But if you listen to Bradie it seems like they need to stop doing that all the time and just straight up beat the guy in front of them.

Have to see where this goes from here. But whatever is working I am all for it as long as the wins keep piling up.

we have stupid players on defense

edit: on a side note I just saw Marcus Spears in a Young Jeezy music video

well see how long this base D lasts when we continue to struggle to get pressure on qbs. I guess that means D-Ware isn't gonna me moved around a lot like Wade said he would cause that might confuse our stupid players and they won't know who to blame if they give up a play.

I agree w/DCF, James seems to be advocating a traditional 3-4, where the front 7 just has to beat their assigned man.

More confusing, James was raving last season about how great the Phillips 3-4 and 46 fronts were, how it made them unpredictable.

This is James 3rd season playing the Phillips 3-4, and he looks more uncomfortable than he did in his first and 2nd seasons. WHY???

Imagine if we had to play Ryans defense......or Belicheat?

I dont understand why we have to constantly dumb down the scheme?

both offense and defense... :bang2:

Players have to be accountable to know their keys....their plays.....

yet now we have players that want to play straight up........and when teams start to say that its easy to play against the Cowboys because they are so vanilla........

Players will complain that we are so predictable :bang2:

These million dollar babies need to be more accountable......:bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

drives me nuts :(

Newman talked this offseason about the front being too predictable. Sounds very strange?

This coming from a guy whose good for 10-12 games a season, one good play this season, and a guy that had a front seven that produced 59 sacks last season.

And, if Im not mistaken, he said we too many sacks last year for the secondary to make plays.

He's the stupidest player on this team

Well, Bradie needs to start looking closer at his performance. So far through 3 games, he's been below average at best. He's having problems disengaging from O-linemen, and that's when he's recognizing the natural running lanes, which he hasn't done much of.

He was a beast last year, but for whatever reasons, he hasn't played anywhere near that level yet.

I'm tired of our defense playing basic 3-4 defense. Ever time Wade tries to mix thing up a bit we make all kinds of mental mistakes. Do these coaches teach them anything? None of theses guys are rookies.

Our basic defense is fine against lesser opponents ( especially against bad quarterbacks) but when we have to play a very good offense they usually pick us apart. I believe if we want to win playoff games we need to be able to fool the other team as well as win one on one matchups.

This is getting frustrating having Bradie James' IQ limit our defenses' potential.

Maybe it's about the personnel and not the scheme. Forget the folks who contribute regularly (Bradie, Ware, etc), note the new primary contributors for this year's D.

Brookings - Solid; No complaints with him.
Igor - Solid run D, but that's about it.
Spencer - New starter...and we need more from him.
Jenkins/Scandrick - 2nd year players who are coming along, but still prone to mistakes.
Sensabaugh - No major complaints; would like to see more.
Carpenter - *sigh*

That's a lot of turnover, even if you have guys who have played for Wade before. Mixing old and new players and getting guys to trust that they're gonna be in the right place suggests that maybe they should go back to basics until players trust that everyone will be on the same page.

Hey, just the let the defense play. You can see that they are maturing before our very eyes. It takes a few games to get into a rythm due to the turnover we've had (Woodysgirl noted the new contributors) on defense.

I don't know about you, but I am liking what I'm seeing so far, and it will only get better from here.

LOL! Looks like we're in for the same tent-folding defense we've seen for the past 5 years. Still sticking with the arrogant "WE BETTA THAN U SO WE BEAT U MAN 2 MAN" argument apparently. Funny how the stuff I've been posting about this defense if you look at my last 10 or so posts was about this very topic and one of the (IMO) dumbest players on the defense comes out with this garbage. Why bother with putting players in position to make plays with deception when all they're going to do is blow their assignments cause they're too stupid? I don't enjoy name-calling like this but when these guys are being paid all this money they could at least do a LITTLE more than try and out-muscle the opposition. Use your damn brain and you might not have to rely completely on your physical prowess every play Bradie. Be in position to make a dynamic play for once.

There's a reason Jon freakin' Kitna of all people blasts #56 when he was on the freakin' LIONS of all teams saying he had no freakin clue what he was doing. This defense is so vanilla that even the Lions can expose the coverages. Pathetic.

This year it looks like it's all up to Romo once again to carry the team on his shoulders. It'd be nice if at least ONE TIME the defense who jacked almost all of the 1st round picks on the team for the past 5 years steps up for Romo.

What always goes hand in hand with our supposed Romo December collapses? THE DEFENSE SUCKING TOTAL ****. Romo put us in position to win the game against the Giants 2 weeks ago and the defense folds. Defense folds like a lawn chair vs the Ravens. Romo bobbles the snap vs. Seattle, defense has a chance to get him the ball back to redeem himself? NO let's let Shaun Alexander get a 1st down run when they're obviously running the ball 3 times. Horrible. I don't even want to look back at every game but I guarantee almost every game that Romo supposedly "lost" the game the defense let the other team blast them with the game on the line too. The problem here is in the NFL all of the blame funnels straight to the quarterback. The problem has been the defense all along. Rex Ryan goes to the Jets and has the team talking **** straight to the Pats and Belichick's face. That defense IN 2 REGULAR SEASON WEEKS + THE OFFSEASON is attacking from all directions confusing one of the smartest QB's in the game and NEVER letting him get comfortable. The Dallas defense will NEVER be like that in their current system of "WE STRONGA THAN U, ME SMASH U".

You guys realize he was mainly talking about stunting in the run defense and nothing else? Not about coverages or exotic blitzes, just stunting.

But let the rueing continue shall we:lmao:

That's why they have OTA's, Minicamps and Training Camp.

It's go time. Not step off the gas time because I am not sure the lug nuts were tightened time.

True.

This offense has been the bread winner for some time now.

I got a feeling we are going to need 30+ from the offense tomorrow.
