Anyone else think this has more to do with his relationship with TO than anything?

to me that would only make since if Roy was playing well. Crayton has outplayed Roy to this point.

I still think crayton best position is the slot though. I dont agree with Deion.

On the punt return, it was the blocking folks. Do you really expect him to make big plays on returns now? He even admitted that the other ten guys opened a huge lane "parting of the seas".

Ding-ding!

This is a true statement. Crayton did a wonderful job of recongnizing the blocking but he did nothing other then run to daylight. I'm saying that's a bad thing. That's what your supposed to do. I'm just saying that the majority of the credit should go to excellent downfield blocking is all.

Three Things Here:

1. Miles isn't as good as he looks over the last two games.

2. Roy isn't as bad as everybody is making him out to be.

3. Crayton is a good player but he doesn't make things happen. He isn't an impact player. The best position he can be in is when he's against the 3rd best DB on the field. He can win that matchup.

Roy Williams is a superior player to Patrick Crayton and can do more on the field.

Crayton is a better slot receiver too.

So just leave it as is. Roy will get his eventually and once we get him going who is going to stop us other than the little yellow flag?

Roy definitely needs to get his head out of his ***, and I was very happy to see him on this team. But at this point, he just looks like a jerk for campaigning for more looks and then does nothing when he gets them.

Both of these. He's butt-hurt over T.O. which I understand and Roy isn't taking advantage of his opportunities.

Yea I do to, but I think we all agree that Roy does need to play better, and I think he will.

Uhh no, its because he hasnt made one play of consequence this season...

:hammer:
He did have the long TD vs. the Bucs but after that game, he is averaging 2.25 catches per game w/ an average of 36 yards per game. Romo will find the open WR and Roy is NOT getting open, or he is dropping them like yesterday. Pick it up Roy......or he definitely should be benched.

I would say he hasn't been that bad until yesterdays game and Garrett and others have said he HAS been open this year but we haven't got him the ball.

MArtellus and Roy have been in the same boat all season. They are open but just aren't getting the ball.

Then him and Romo have GOT to work on their chemistry. It's obviously not there at all. I'm not being a pessimist, I'm usually an extreme homer but Roy is really disappointing this year. Part is on Garrett too, all I really see Roy run is a slant (just this game), a couple posts, and a hook. Crossing patterns are needed, easiest way to get the ball to a guy who is already running with some speed.

Hey i'll agree with you there. I really hope they get it turned on.

I've been disapointed with the situation but once Roy starts getting the rock and gets his confidence going he is one tough dude to stop.

Yesterday though he was atrocious.

Their will be some crow eating threads eventually.

Gawd I hope so. We already have a pretty good offense, if Romo and Roy can start hooking up, it would be scary.

Eventually, what will happen is that defenses will start game planning Miles and coverages will force the read back to Roy. It's really only a matter of time IMO. Patients is all we need to have here.

With all due respect, that's how it's done 9 out of 10 times in the NFL. There are the freaks that make things happen, regardless (Cribbs, Hester, etc.). But a majority of those things going to the house is the result of a key block that gets the returner free. Newman sprung that block yesterday. Crayton slid by and had the momentum to get past the remaining couple of defenders.

Kudos to the guy. Crayton gets way too much hate around here. When comparing the WRs that have been here over the past few seasons, Crayton has been the most consistent (yes, that includes T.O.). He's not a burner or a big play guy, but over his career in Dallas he's been more apt to make the play than blunder it. Yes, I know all about the Giants play-off game. Every single receiver in the league has had a drop like that in a critical point of a game or season. Not one is immune.

Crayton is a team player, and I'll take that all day long.

Rossum has shown he is one of those guys that can do more. Yes he got hurt, but this return doesn't all of a sudden mean we don't need Rossum when he gets healthy.

Roy Williams has now played 15 games for the Dallas Cowboys. In those 15 games, he has...

31 receptions (2.1 per game)
428 yards (28.5 per game, 13.8 per catch)
2 TD (one every 7.5 games)
22 first downs (1.5 per game)

Based on these numbers, I would like for somebody--anybody--to make a case that he is a capable starting-caliber receiver in the NFL. We have some people who claim he's a number one receiver, but how can anyone make that argument given the facts?

The truth is that Roy Williams is a bust of epic proportions. One need only look at the numbers for proof.

13.8 ypc = 1st down each catch.

When you've got Miles Austin breaking the game open for you, you need a chain-mover as well. He might have come at a price, but as long as we're posting up more Wins, who cares?

All three characters are well cast. Tuco was cool but so was Angel Eyes. :)
