The vids on Ustream so I can't embed here.

Very interesting to hear Jerry talking about Jimmy leaving the Cowboys just days before we go and beat the Bills in Super Bowl XXVIII.

You can tell there was something going on between them at that time.

Jerry saying he could coach the team.

Classic!!!

Man, those were the days. I could watch every newscast and interview, pregame special and regular season game with as much or more joy than I did when it happened.

I wish all these types of videos were available to watch.

It would be really fun to watch a whole season including all the pre and post game shows.

I wish those two could have tempered their damn egos and Jimmy had finished out that 10 year contract. I can't help but think they could have won 3 in a row (or more)

The 1st rumbling I remember was when Jimmy still the HC was being interviewed and was asked if he had any interest to going to the expansion team Jacksonville Jimmy response was he would never say never.

Of course later the following year Jimmy snubbed Jerry at the Owners meeting in which Jerry utter the famous words 500 other coaches could do the job.

I also recall the meeting with Jerry, Jimmy and Aikman after which it was announced Jimmy would no longer be the HC. As for any blame it was shared both men were at fault

Some will never get this.

The man left standing was going to be the man blamed. As I said Jerry clearly shared in this clash of egos but Jimmy has and had quite an ego of his own. I would also say Jimmy track record is also clear he has never coached any team more than 5 years.

I respect Jimmy and think it is a very good coach but his style I think causes him to burn out and look for different challenges. Jimmy was never going to stay in Dallas 10 or 15 years. Heck even his dream job and situation in Miami as HC\GM did not last long before he had enough.

I wont get into who is to blame because its just goes on and on with opinion after the fact.

I will say that it probably cost one or more of the following scenarios.

1st team to win 3 straight SB's (no way we lose to 49ers)
1st team to win 4 straight SB's (then we beat the Stealers)
1st team to win 4 SB's in 5 years (maybe steal another to end it)

You maybe right we will never know. That loss to the 9ers was due to some freak plays and key members turning the ball over.

And being hampered with an injured Emmitt Smith. Jimmy would not have prevented Emmitt from pulling his hamstring late in the regular season and having little impact in the playoffs.

yep aikman was picked and irvin fumbled on the first two drives. Cant remember who fumbled on the third posession, I think it was on the kickoff.

that niners team though, They bought every free agent under the sun.

Lee woodall, gary plummer, charles mann, bart oates, deion sanders, ken norton jr, rickey jackson, tim harris.....etc...etc....

What A joke. I always get mad When I hear people talking about that team as one of the greatest of all time.....That was no team..that was a hodge podge of desperation.....that is why they only won a single super bowl under young and with that group.

God I hate that team.

It was Kevin Williams who always had a penchant for coughing up the ball at the wrong time. I can't believe some think he is better than Patrick Crayton.

yep there ya go...It was on the kickoff after the niners scored off of irvins fumble if I remember correctly.

I wish could have found a way in that game, I absolutely hate that steve young won a superbowl and gets treated like royalty.

No, but that team was ill prepared. Spotting them 21pts in first 12 minutes was horrible. Jimmy's team doesnt do that.

You and me both. Steve Young should thank the Jerry Jones for meddling with the Dallas Cowboys. He should thank him EVERY year of his ferret-loving-headpiece existence.

And isn't this the team that they later wrist slapped Debartalo for circumventing the cap?

One thing that's very noticeable in that interview is how sharp Jerry sounded. There was no pausing or hesitating unlike all the stammering he does now.

Both men's fault? 100% BS.

Jerry wanted to wear all the hats...and get credit for wearing each.

It's been clear through his tenure that Jerry wants to be owner-GM-head coach...and that has wreaked havoc on the team.
