Both men's fault? 100% BS.

Jerry wanted to wear all the hats...and get credit for wearing each.

It's been clear through his tenure that Jerry wants to be owner-GM-head coach...and that has wreaked havoc on the team.

So it was all Jerry? :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2:

Jimmy has a big ego of his own him snubbing jerry at the Owners meeting is what caused the problem to begin with. Jerry has blame but you got to be kidding to think Jimmy was a saint in this.

Which made it sad, that these two, huge, egos, couldn't see the big picture.

The NFL is littered with high octane ego coaches. It isn't a problem if you have a sane owner/GM.

To repeat the facts: The onus is 100% on Jerry Jones' stupidity for why we lost Jimmy and began the descent into sub .500 scrubville.

Just look at Jerry's track record, baby. And did you all notice how easily Rome played with Jones as a little puppet in the interview? Jones' ego is so over-inflated it can be easily levered in any situation. Gawd, did Rome ever expose him as a runaway lunatic, using nothing but junior league tactics!

I think alot of the players started having problems with Jimmy. It may not have lasted if he had stayed. I didn't care for his players, which is evident because he didn't bother to show up for Aikman or Irvin's HOF.

You were six when he left the Cowboys.

Aikman still visits with Jimmy down in Miami.

And Irvin would still run you over for Jimmy.

Time goes by and people revise history.

I agree with you. AND, AND, AND... Jerry STILL is the same way today. Wanting to wear all the hats and all that happens is people want to give him credit for learning to be a football man. Give me a break. We have had collosal, disasterous endings to our season under HIS tenure(as pseudo head coach).

So if people cant see that its because they dont want to.

yep aikman was picked and irvin fumbled on the first two drives. Cant remember who fumbled on the third posession, I think it was on the kickoff.

that niners team though, They bought every free agent under the sun.

Lee woodall, gary plummer, charles mann, bart oates, deion sanders, ken norton jr, rickey jackson, tim harris.....etc...etc....

What A joke. I always get mad When I hear people talking about that team as one of the greatest of all time.....That was no team..that was a hodge podge of desperation.....that is why they only won a single super bowl under young and with that group.

God I hate that team.

This is part of the reason why the niners are my most hated team. Far above the skins. The niners sucking puts a smile on my face and I hope they continue that and it becomes a tradition. The funny thing about that championship game is that Dallas still had chances to come back in that game. Irvin being interfered by Sanders when it was 38-28 but no call was made.

And isn't this the team that they later wrist slapped Debartalo for circumventing the cap?

The players all had problems with jimmy. They couldnt stand him all week, even wanstedt his closest friend on the staff had felt they had enough, but they all continued to run through walls for him because they knew he was right and they knew his plan worked.

His tirade on the way back from the loss in december of 92 at washgton made alot of the players and staff view him differently. Alot of guys just thought he was overboard. He jumped frank cornish for no reason and dressed down the stewardess trying to serve food.

Other coaches and scouts on the team who were there all felt he went overboard....but he was staying who he was and it is a huge part of why we won.....

all the players loved him though on sunday and they knew he had a plan and knew what was going on and that winning was the only thing that mattered.

Nate newtwon had a funny nickname for jimmy but of course I cant remember it right now, I will look it up.

oh and as far as aikman goes, He hated jimmy. He got word in 1990 that jimmy told the staff in a meeting that he was a loser in high school, college and at that point they were 3-7 and he was worried he was going to be a loser in the nfl......

when aikman got word about that on friday evening, he decided saturday night in the hotel he was going to jimmys room and demand a trade. He didnt like jimmy because jimmy never talked to him and never complimented him...everything towards him was negative....and the loser comments sent him over the top.....

but, The greatness of babe laufenberg sat down aikman and talked him out of going to jimmys room and sticking it out......what happened next was the cowboys went a 4 game winning streak and were on the verge of making the playoffs, until aikman was hurt.....

anyway, aikman never even had a relationship with jimmy until a team party in the summer of 92 before camp started, when aikman was getting ready to leave he was looking for his bag and it was missing.......he then found out jimmy took it and hid it as a joke.....aikman was mad and went to jimmy and johnson was out of character and happy and sat with aikman....as the story goes by mike fisher...the two sat and drank beer and talked all night.....

from that day on they have been close and it changed everything between them.

anyway, rant over.....but point being...players dont like coaches like jimmy or parcells or ditka during seasons and during the week during practices......but the smart players appreciate guys like them on gamedays and once they are not around those kinds of people later on.....

look at james washington, jimmy wrote behavioral clauses in his contract when he came to Dallas. He was a problem with the rams and was a pain in the side of the staff...when he came to dallas jimmy had it so that if he caused problems he could be released and not get paid...!!!!! Washington was livid that he was being replaced in nickel and other defensive sets but he couldnt say or do squat about it......and he still speaks highly of jimmy today.

Yep, I still remember an article in the DMN back then about how they never liked each other or really had much of a relationship until Aikman went to Jimmy's house in the offseason and they hit it off about, of all things, Jimmy's exotic fish collection.

Simply drafting Steve Walsh shows how much Jimmy thought of Troy. Jimmy was incredibly lucky to find a greater fool to bail him out of that incredibly boneheaded move.

And after watching the videos... Jerry came off as way more of an ****** back then. He's really mellowed a lot. But you know he still believes a lot of what he said, even if he's smarter now not to show it.

And the graphic at 1:40 of the first vid.... :lmao2:
