it comes against Brazil (probably the best team in the world) this summer in the Confederations Cup. Not quite as big as the World Cup, but it's up there nonetheless. The game is actually the Final, which the US had to get to by beating the best team in the world at the time, Spain.
The US by world standards is by no means a soccer power, but they're on the rise and so seeing this type of goal in that type of game against that type of team was a special moment for a US soccer fan
