What's so special about it?

well, the goal itself is set up by a beautiful full-field counter attack

it comes against Brazil (probably the best team in the world) this summer in the Confederations Cup. Not quite as big as the World Cup, but it's up there nonetheless. The game is actually the Final, which the US had to get to by beating the best team in the world at the time, Spain.

The US by world standards is by no means a soccer power, but they're on the rise and so seeing this type of goal in that type of game against that type of team was a special moment for a US soccer fan

Yeah, I thought setup was nice, but the goal itself wasn't particularly impressive.

His touch to set it up for himself and the finish was absolutely top notch.

I was pumped when we made that goal.

To bad we got lit up in the 2nd half.

Agreed. I have a good feeling for the World Cup though. We have a ton of tested top league european talent, a bit of a belief and a good system and we can beat anyone.

Not a Landon Donovan fan, but that was a sweet goal.

As for the World Cup, I think the U.S. is capable of a surprise or two. They have a very good keeper in Tim Howard and they could very well ride that a fair bit. I also think Dempsey is an underrated talent.
